In fact, the vehicle that onedrives is such a reflection of one’s per-sonality that many drivers take theirpoint of pride to the next level withautomotive accessories. Fortunately,a special design award helps identifywhich vehicles leave room for imag-ination.

The Specialty Equipment Mar-ket Association (SEMA) namedthe most accessory-friendly car, truck, SUV and hybrid at theSEMA Show, the world’s largestautomotive specialty equipmenttrade event where new productsand trends are revealed each year.

“We believe that the vehicleyou drive should fit you like aglove,” said Peter MacGillivray,SEMA VP of marketing and com-munications. “From your person-ality, your style and your taste …your automobile should be asunique as you are.”

The SEMA Design Awardsunderscore all the fantasticchoices that consumers have whencustomizing their vehicles. Andwhile every vehicle on the roadcan be personalized, the SEMAprogram steers consumers to themost accessory-friendly vehicles.

The winners for 2007 include:• The Ford Shelby GT 500 in

the car category. The vehicle thatis celebrated by car buffs is beingmade even cooler with accessoriesand specialty products.

(NAPSA)—For many students, college can be a crash course inlearning how to manage their per-sonal finances.

Freshmen, in particular, oftenfall short when it comes to finan-cial literacy, especially with creditcard companies a popular fixtureon the majority of college cam-puses. Eager to establish con-sumer loyalty, credit card mar-keters often dispense “freebies” tostudents in the way of water bot-tles or T-shirts in exchange fortheir signature on a credit cardapplication. The downside formany of these students is a long-term lesson on credit card debt.

A recent survey by Sallie Maefound that more than half of col-lege students accumulated morethan $5,000 in credit card debtwhile in school. Of the 13,000respondents, one-third piled onmore than $10,000 in credit carddebt while in school. Only 19 per-cent said they did not acquire anycredit card debt during college.

“Living within your means canbe a challenge at any stage of life,”says Martha Holler, spokespersonfor Sallie Mae, the nation’s leadingsaving- and paying-for-collegecompany. “Too often, however, theconvenience of a credit card makesit all too easy to purchase unneces-sary items.

“Using credit and incurringhigh debt can mean you pay morein interest—often a lot more—than the cost of your original pur-chase,” she adds.

To help students become moredebt savvy and establish respon-sible money management prac-tices, Sallie Mae created www.SallieMae.com/BeDebtSmart.

The Web site offers valuabletools and resources for both stu-dents and parents, with informa-tion organized into various con-sumer life-stages, including thoseabout to enter college, studentsready for graduation and con-sumers beginning to repay theirstudent loans.

Among the content userswill find on the site is SallieMae’s 1-2-3 approach, as well asinformation on the 10 rules ofsmart credit management, whatto do if you are having financialdifficulties in school, credit scams, guarding against identity theftand the new laws regarding bank-ruptcy and student loans.
