SOYAL 701ServerSQL Installation Steps

The SOYAL 701Server 10.1 implements ODBC 3.0 functions to support SQL: 2003

standard SQL database query language Database systems and renamed as 701ServerSQL.

If you want to store 701Server data in database mode, you need to install a database

service that supports SQL-3 and its ODBC driver, and then install 701SQL version 10.1.

Otherwise, 701ServerSQL will still run in File System mode. Below is MariaDB 10.4 tutorial

example.

Step (1) Download database system MariaDB

Path https://downloads.mariadb.org/

a. Please choose Win32 or Win64 to download and install according to your operating

system and download mariaDB version 10.3 after.

b. This software can't be put in the SOYAL CD. Customers can only download it from the

original website to meet the requirements of open source.

c. Here uses mariadb-10.4.0-winx64.msi as an example to demonstrate the installation

steps:

Choose MariaDB 10.4 series

Choose mariadb-10.4.10-winx64.msi to download

Click “Run”

Click “Next”

Click “I accept the terms in the License Agreement”

Click “Next”

Enter “admin” as password

TCP port: 3306

Click “Finish” to complete the installation process

Step (2) download ODBC driver

Path: https://downloads.mariadb.org/connector-odbc/3.1.0/

a. Regardless of the operating system is x86 / x64, please choose the Win32 version of the

MariaDB ODBC driver to download and install, because 701ServerSQL is a w32 APP.

b. Here uses mariadb-connector-odbc-3.1.0-win32.msi as an example to demonstrate the

installation steps:

Select MariaDB Connector/ODBC 3.1.0 Windows Installers

Select mariadb-connector-odbc-3.1.0-win32.msi

Click “Next”

Click “I accept the terms in the License Agreement “

Click ”Typical” and “Next”

Click “Install”

Click “Finish” to complete the process

Step (3) Please install "701ServerSQL" and execute as administrator

Before installation, please backup the original C: \ Program Files (x86) \ 701Server \ folder,

because the new version of Unicode will convert the old data to Unicode, the new data is not

compatible with the old version of 701Client.

Step (4) Install new 701ClientSQL 10.1 ‘701ServerSetup10v1 191216.exe’

a. Click [HELP] > [About]

And you will see the version of “SQL Database Storage Mode”

b. Make sure your controller is online

Step (5) Database via HeidiSQL

a. Double Click HeidiSQL

b. Click ‘Create’ and rename into ‘701Server’. Insert the password into ‘Admin’ and click

‘Open’

c. Select ‘701Server’ > ‘eventlog’ > ‘data

When you swipe the card, the event log will display all data
