Grammar

• Gustar with Infinitives…– An infinitive tells the meaning of the verb without

naming any subject or tense. There are AR, ER and IR verbs.

– Just like nouns, infinitives can be used after a verb like gustar to say what you and others like to do. Always use gusta NOT gustan with verbs.

• Me gusta la musica. – I like music.

• Me gusta cantar. – I like to sing.

Grammar

• Pronouns after prepositions…– Pronouns can stand for the same noun yet still have

different forms, depending on how they’re being used in the sentence. (Yo soy Javier. Me gusta dibujar.)

– Prepositions in Spanish are A(to), de (of, from), con (with), en (in, on, at).

– Pronouns after prepositions are: mi, ti, usted, el, ella, nosotros, vosotros, ustedes, ellos, ellas.

– A ti te gusta dibujar?– A mi me gusta dibujar.– A ella le gusta dibujar.

Grammar

• Present tense of QUERER with infinitives…– Quiero, quieres, quiere, queremos, queréis,

quieren.– Use a form of querer with an infinitive of

another verb to say that someone wants to do something.

• Quiero comer fruta. I want to eat fruit.• Maria quiere nadar.- Maria wants to swim.
