The biggest issue Volusion had with Salesforce’s manual weekly export option was that it was frustrating and even confusing to use. “If you have no other option, it does the trick. That being said, it is too time consuming and restrictive,” reports Herrera. In fact, “I never made it through a complete backup, which is why I started looking into Spanning.”

The reliability and convenience of daily backups and fine-tuned restores is reassuring to Herrera, especially knowing that the backups provided by Salesforce’s weekly export are only available for 48 hours.
“At first, we wrongly thought if we ever needed the data, we could go find the link in our Salesforce weekly backup history and download the backup for that time period,” says Herrera. “We were very fortunate that we never got into a situation where we needed that information before implementing a completebackup and restore solution.”
