SCHOLARSHIPS: The scholarships are coming!! The scholarships are coming!!! ARE YOU APPLYING?? Scholarships are available every year from all types of companies, organizations, military, and a variety of post-secondary institutions. Large amounts of money are presented each year to students who have won scholarships from right here in Warren County! However, many other Warren County students let these opportunities slip through their fingers by simply not applying for the scholarships. The key is, especially if one is looking for ways to pay for college, APPLY FOR EVERY SCHOLARSHIP FOR WHICH YOU QUALIFY!!! Though most scholarships applications start arriving in my office from November to March of the senior year, some have arrived already for students to view and submit. Some had previously been sent out via the Spartan Line but now the information is compiled into one list that will be updated each month. Remember, EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS when it comes to paying for your post-secondary education!!!! _______________________________________________________________ **WRECC Design the Cover Contest Deadline: Sept. 18, 2015 for $50-$100 Visit http://www.wrecc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/2015-Design-the-Cover-Application.pdf to enter **US Presidential Scholars Candidates** Deadline : Sept. 22, 2015 The Kentucky Department of Education is accepting nominations for the U.S Presidential Scholars Program Each school may nominate one male and one female Senior based on scholarship and promise of future success. It may be helpful to consider the following questions as you contemplate the selection of your nominees: 1) What about the student makes him or her stand out as having outstanding scholar? 2) What special challenges or hurdles has this student overcome while still achieving high academic success? Students who apply should complete the first page of the attached application form; the second page should be filled out by a counselor or teacher. Please email the completed application for your school’s male and female candidate. The application will be used to help choose the twenty students who will be nominated by the Kentucky Department of Education.
