All school-owned textbooks will also need to be returned before students leave on the 23rd. Thank you. Wear tennis shoes (it is for their safety and for maximum move-ment) 2. Wear shorts under dresses/skirts. 3. Leave jewelry at home or in classroom (lots of issues with students wearing rings to PE-if finger gets jammed or broken, finger could swell and ring could not be gotten off in time). Jewelry also gets in the way of movement, get broken or scratch others. SUMDOG WEB SITE Free math and Language Arts games are here – and aligned to the current educational standards. Parents may sign up for free access. Go to http://www.sumdog.com/parents for more details. JUMP ROPE FOR HEART Students received thank you gifts this week for the Jump Rope for Heart event. Richardsville students raised $1282.80 to help those with special hearts. Congratulations to Adam Comer in Mrs. Sams room – he was top school fundraiser with $125! SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMP Little Lady Raider Baskeball Camp June 1721, 2013 in the gym of WEHS, 8:00 AM11:00 AM. Cost iss $50 for 5 days. Free Tshirts. Contack Coach Aaron Richmond to apply or for more questions. ACADEMICS JOURNALS: Journal prompts will reflect the topic of each story and will occasionally be free writing. READING: We will begin Unit 5 with One Dark Night. Please help your child practice reading the story at home. Vocabulary words: (review words during Unit 5): angry, door, second, watch, warm, certainly, either, great, laugh, water, worst, you’re. Focus Skills: (Unit 5, One Dark Night): Prefixes un-/re-/pre-/dis-, realistic fiction, sequence, graphic organizer, pronouns (he, it, we, they, she). Spelling words: (Test every 2 Weeks) One Dark Night: unsafe, preheat, rerun, disappear, unlock, retie, rewind, unpack, unplug, regroup, preschool, disagree, prehistoric, unfortunate, reunion. CALENDAR: “Every Day Counts” Calendar Math will continue to be a part of our Math curriculum. MATH: We will be working in Chapter 7: Time and Money. HOMEWORK: Spelling Practice for One Dark Night.
