Why Do People Fight?

Volume 1 January 2010

Page 2: Speak Out January 2010

Why Do People Fight?Fights broke out everywhere in school today, fights be-cause of goofy stuff like someone threw an orange at someone. The person that got hit with it said he’s going to slap everybody. So they got the person that threw the orange and more people. They were pushing the teacher and security out the way and started to rush at him and they jumped on him.People fight in school every day. Why do people fight all the time? Because they see people that got some-thing that they want, so they have to fight them or have gang member’s to jump them to get it. Other people fight because they are in gangs. So if there are gang members that they don’t like, they fight them. Gangs like UVLs, TVLs, CVLs, Breeds, and GDs. Fighting can lead to someone getting killed or hurt because people fight and when they lose, they go get more people. It turns into a bigger fight and people bring guns and knives. Someone might get shot or stabbed fatally. People should not fight all the time to settle their argu-ments. They can talking it out, play basketball or cards to take out their frustrations. But if they want to fight so badly, they should get boxing gloves so people can’t get hurt. It makes a lot of things easier. Because you don’t have to watch your back every time someone’s behind you or worry about gang members trying to jump you after school.

Oh No You Didn’t!!!Have you heard a toddler curse and thought it was cute? Teachers don’t. In fact teachers think it is disrespectful and degrading. If other kids in the class see the teacher getting disrespected and not doing anything about it, then the students will think that they can disrespect the teacher too and that takes away from the learning process. Another thing that takes away from the learning process is when the stu-dents disrespect each other and they start to fight about it. That can lead to them pulling out guns and shooting up the school which can result in the kids who are good students and don’t curse in school to be harmed.School is a place for learning not dis-respecting teachers and peers. There are other ways to disrespect the teach-er besides cursing and just because they’re not cursing words does not mean that they don’t make the teacher not want to teach. Also it makes the teachers self esteem go down which can result in the teacher’s mental harm.Sometimes the student’s school life reflects their home life. Peo-ple curse in the school because they are allowed to do at home so the student feels its ok. Even though the student knows oth-ers outside of their family don’t like it.Sometimes students stop caring about other people because they are not there family. Some students who curse in school a lot come from stripped families. Others might curse because they have a strict family and this is their time to let go so they curse at everybody.

Some of the time it’s the security guards who curse at the stu-dents which results in the student going on a rampage of curs-ing. To help solve this problem the school should talk to the parents and try to get their children to stop cursing and have programs that help the families not just the students. The programs for the families will help the family become stronger, get jobs for par-ents, and help them find apartments. Also schools should discipline the students when they curse in school. This will help by teaching the student that cursing and disrespecting is going to get them nowhere. So the next time you’re about to say the word b**ch, think about the disrespect

The death of Chicago Board of Education president Michael Scott has been a tragedy for family and friends. Scott was found with a gunshot wound to the left side of his head, according to people who found him. His body was found at the water's edge of the Chicago River behind the Chicago Apparel Center at 350 N. Orleans, along the north branch of the river. He fell forward after supposedly shooting himself with a 380-caliber gun, which was found under his body. Scott was last seen Sunday at 6 p.m. after he visited his sister at a nursing home. A relative says he visited his sister regularly on Sundays. Around 3:15 a.m. po-lice found Scott's blue Cadillac parked next to a trash bin yards away from where he was seen along the river. The river was block off with red tape and police officers.Michael Scott was a 60 years old. Scott was a good friend of Mayor Daley. Daley said he has known Scott for 30 years. He didn’t believe that Scott would do that himself. It was said that he was facing no issues. Most people called him the problem solver. The death investigation continues, no one really knows what happened.

The Michael Scott Mystery

The Cook County medical examiner’s office was quick to rule Michael Scott’s death as a suicide.

However, friends and family don’t believe he would do that to himself.

Can’t Break MeYou can’t change me nor make me.

You can try to be me, but won’t be like me

You can tease me, but you wouldn’t break me.

Your words are an echo that will soon fade away.

I laugh as your childish ways brightens my days.

You’re surprised that you haven’t got in my head.

Or wondering why I haven’t gotten upset.

Cause your word mean nothing.

It’s like an echo that will soon fade away.

Eyes wide and wateryEyes wide and watery

waiting to hear those two words

So it can be official

So I can be complete

So we can be one

Not just boy and girl or man and woman but husband and wife

Mrs. Campbell, the name I long for

The name I say in my head each and ever moment I get

The words our home

The home not house we start a family in, grow old in

The words our, kids not just mine not yours

But you and me

Eyes wide and watery waiting for our future

LifeLife isn’t the way it’s supposed to be.

It’s like a rhythm except it skips a beat.

Got to keep your eyes open, making sure not to miss nothing.

So don’t blink, and think.

Hoping everything you had doesn’t go down the drain and sink.

Too young to understand why the world evolves the way it do.

The way you live your life is up to you.

And she my everything

And I’m her everything

Baby you are shining like a diamond like a wedding ring

And we don’t make complains

I won’t play around with your heart cause I don’t play games

Baby I felt pain

For sure u felt the same

Other people knew that they love but they felt ashamed

Baby I feel your pain

I am trying to keep us hanging up like a picture frame

Never forget the day

I met you on a Saturday

Haven’t seen you for a minute then I saw you in the hall way

Baby you gone be in my heart and that’s always

You know my number baby I am just a call away

I want to spend my life with you so let’s make it all the way
