Dr Milan J N Meetarbhan was involved in the setting up of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. He was Senior Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister and Head of the government’s policy unit from 1995 to 1998. Dr Meetarbhan served as Chairperson of Mauritius Telecom from 1998 to 2000. He studied law in London and Paris and received doctorate in International Law from the Sorbonne. He was conferred the title of Honorary Fellow in Law by the University of Mauritius.


Yandraduth Googoolye has been Acting Governor of the Bank of Mauritius from 16th February 2010 till now. He joined the Bank of Mauritius in 1985 as Accountant before being appointed Assistant Inspector of Banks. He became Director, Banking Supervision, in 1991 before moving as Director to the Operations Department in 1997. He became Director, Accounting, Budgeting and Payments System, in early 2002. Mr Googoolye is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, UK, and a Fellow of the Association of International Accountants.
