A message from Fr Francis: I will be conducting Systematic House Visitations around our Parish this year. This will be set as my main priority in the parish. I have informed our Parish Pastoral Council regarding this matter. The purposes of this Systematic House Visitation are to know you, the Parishioners, personally by listening with you through your concerns and suggestions for the Parish; and also to know me more.

Fr Francis hopes to resume his house visitations soon and will visit parishioners in the Golflinks Rd, Great Sthn Highway, Kemble Tce, Kojonup Rd, Marmion St, McLeod St, Park St, Piesse St, Katanning-Dumbleyung Rd, India St & Keith St Broomehill and Park Rd Gnowangerup — put the kettle on and have a chat!

A little piece of history…..From the “Great Southern Herald” 24 August 1951 Competing in the Jubilee School Choir’s Festival, the St Rita’s Convent Choir was successful in winning the State "B" Division for schools of under 100 pupils. The Choir will fly to Melbourne on September 17 to compete in the Commonwealth semi-finals on September 20. The St Rita’s Convent Choir has so far been most successful in the "B". division of the Jubilee School Choir Festival. By performance is fully recognised. The choir accompanied by Mrs. J. D. Galloway, pianist, and Mrs. D. C. Pope, conductor, will now fly to Melbourne on September 17, to compete in the Commonwealth semi-finals on September 20, and should they be successful in their section ,they will travel to Canberra for one night, where the Jubilee concert is being staged. Each choir competing is required to render two songs — "Australia O Thou Favoured Isle" being the set one, while the second is the choice of the choir The St Rita’s Choir chose as the second song, "Pixie Haunted.'' The twenty girls who formed the Choir are :Shirley Clayton, Patricia Clayton, Yvonne Coventry, Patricia Noonan, Yvonne Taylor, Shirley Taylor, Helen Mouritz, Jane Trevenen, Veronica McAuliffe, Kathleen Sullivan, Patricia Best, Noreen Norrish, Margaret Haggerty, Barbara Clancy, Patricia Stayt, Irene Colohan, Katherine Galloway, Joyce McHarg, Gillian Simpson, Shirley Holland. Find out next week how they fared

Let’s continue to pray for the sick members of our families and also within our Parish especially: HELEN & TERENCE NOONAN, NANCY LAURINO, WENDY NORRISH.

Peter’s Pence Appeal (a collection for the

intentions of the Holy Father) the 3rd of 4

annual appeals requested by the Diocese of

Bunbury, will be held next Sunday 30th July.
