DECEMBER’S MISSION OF MERCY: DECEMBER 6, 2015
RECTOR’S DISCRETIONARY FUND
As a priest, people come to the rector of the church for help. Ceci helps
people in spiritual and caring ways, yet sometimes the need is financial. To
allow for this, the church has a Rector’s Discretionary Fund, which is used to
help with food for a family or a utility bill for someone in need. Please
support Ceci in her calling to help those who come to her by giving to this
discretionary fund. As always, donations are accepted year round.
Advent, the season of waiting and expecting, is a good time to give on behalf
of those in need.
CHRIST CHURCH PLAYERS TO PRESENT
NEW CHRISTMAS SHOW
Mark your calendars for December 5th at 7:00pm! The Christ
Church Players will present The Night Before Nicholas: an
original play hosted by the legendary and real-life saint
himself. The play draws upon the music and folklore of many
countries, celebrating the rich flowering of song and story
surrounding the birth of the Baby Jesus. The Nicholas legend
is but one of the lovely traditions that fill the Sacred Season
with jollity and joy. Bring the whole family!
YOU ARE INVITED TO LIGHT THE ADVENT WREATH
Each Sunday in Advent we take a moment at the beginning of
the 8:00am and 10:30am service to say a short prayer and
light the Advent Wreath candles. If you (individuals and/or
whole families) would be interested in participating in this
ministry, please contact Beth Holland at 770/447-1166 or e-
mail to [email protected] and let her know which dates
and service times you are available (Nov. 29th, Dec. 6th, 13th and 20th). We
will then provide a schedule to all participants. Thanks!!
THANK YOU FROM MILLICENT CLARKE-MULLINGS
Sunday, November 22, 2015, is a day I will always remember. Mike's tribute,
Ceci's blessing and presentation of the Prayer Shawl, and the outpouring of love
I received from the congregation, make my grateful heart rejoice. Thank you,
Christ Church, for allowing me to participate in the life of this church.

Wanted! Someone who has capabilities as a graphic designer. We have several
upcoming projects and would appreciate help in conveying information in a
creative and clear way. Please contact Beth Holland in the church office.

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES
ADVENT BEAN SOUP
Please join the Women's Sunday School class on Sunday,
December 6th from 9:15 to 10:15am as we put ingredients
together for bean soup "kits" to give to the Norcross
Cooperative Ministry. We will be set up in the Parish Hall
and all are welcome to participate in this outreach activi-
ty. For more information, please contact Terry Franzen.
CALLING ALL KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS The Order of St. Luke, which offers healing prayers in the parlor
every Sunday during Holy Eucharist, needs people who crochet or
knit, to make small hand-held prayer cloths, about the size of your
hand. They can be in any shape--rectangles, squares, triangles,
circles, etc.—any color, or any design. The prayer cloths will be
blessed by our clergy and given to anyone who requests them, as they provide a
source of comfort and healing. Feel free to give them to Sarah Randall or Val
Wilson, or you may bring them to the church office. For more information
about the Order of St. Luke, please contact Sharon Pitman.
CHILDCARE HELP NEEDED
Help us with childcare on Sunday afternoons. We have several families who
attend our English as a Second Language class and there are six (6) children.
Guidance for games, coloring, or reading for about 2 hours from 2:30pm--
4:30pm on Sundays. Please contact Fr. Napoleon Brito, Ed Hurley, or Mary
Halliburton if you can assist us.
CHRISTMAS FLOWER DEDICATIONS
We are now accepting Christmas flower dedications and
contributions through Monday, December 14, 2015. Donation
envelopes can be found in the pews and in the Narthex. These
dedications can be made “In Thanksgiving for ______,” “In
Memory of _____,” or both. You may also call the church office
at 770/447-1166 for more details.
2015 LITURGICAL CALENDARS NOW AVAILABLE
The 2016 liturgical calendars are available for the low donation of
$2.00 per calendar. They are located in the Narthex and in the church
