DIRECTORS CORNER, DIRECTORY

I would like to thank our seniors who supported our Senior Services Levy, Issue 4, which passed 64.4% in favor. Our desire to provide the best services and programs for Lake County is what drove us to ask for your generous support. We will continue to be careful stewards of the Senior Services Levy funding and will insure that older adults receive the cost-effective services they need to remain healthy and economically secure in their own homes and communities.

Our recently completed 2018 Trip Promotional meeting was very successful. A huge THANK YOU to all the staff, volunteers, and tour operators who not only worked efficiently and cooperatively during the event but also for the countless hours of behind the scenes work that goes into such a big event. It was undoubtedly a great team effort! I’d also like to thank the group of ladies who crochet and knit on Mondays at the center. They are here every Monday working on some kind of project, usually for someone they don’t know. They provide hats, scarves, and blankets for the Salvation Army and Birthright Lake, Inc. They also took on a recent project to provide lap blankets for the veteran’s at the VA hospital. I am amazed by their generosity, talent, and their efforts to make our community special.

Although the building rarely closes, occasionally a program will be cancelled at the discretion of the instructor and the Se-nior Center Director. Please call to confirm if your class will be held prior to leaving home.We ask folks to change into clean dry shoes when using the fitness stu-dio and fitness equipment because the salt and dirt is very damaging to the wood floor and our fitness equipment.
