Analytics + Displays <<OSI: Is there any validity to doing anything in combination, that has math

or averaging or an analytic … is this a valid scenario?>>

“I think the user would kill for that too. Turning

this into something that would help me start out

an equation set, I think they would love that

piece.”

<<OSI: Event/Time Comparisons / Overlay Trends>>

“Man, I can’t tell you how powerful that is, that’s

awesome. … Just the fact that you’re on that functionality

is awesome. … You know how we get around that right

now? What we do is put two trends right above

another and carefully get them aligned and move

timeframes around and then compare them and get the

scaling right … it’s an awful pain in the butt. This is

awesome that you’re thinking about this.”

<<OSI: is there value in this concept of collections?”

“That’s awesome. Yeah, there’s total value in that, a

LOT of value in that. <OSI: Why?> Because we’re

constantly developing and adding things like 6 steam

generators in one field in the next few months which

means we need to update all those screens. We have a

ton [50] of iconics screens and then PB on top of that. I’m

just one person and I’m busy enough trying to do ACE

calculations and create the PI points and assets in AF.”

“The engineer needs to know what went into alarm.

Then based on this they dive into further analysis

around that event. It’s kind of a notification to the

engineer. <OSI: what does he do when he dives into the analysis?>

He would dive into the lube oil system screen, click on

his trends and everything is right there. <OSI: so, if you

had a way of tying an event frame to a display …> Yeah, that would

be the cat’s meow.”

“From what I can see, you guys aren’t even looking back

at ProcessBook, you’re just saying … OK, what do we

need? To me, it looks like a brand new clean sheet of

paper.

And the nice thing about it is you’re incorporating all the

functionality that you guys have thrown into PI …

notifications, events, and blah blah blah … now it’s one

cohesive environment.”
