The San Diego-Imperial Council delivers quality programs

to more than 15,700 local youth with the help of more

than 7,000 volunteers. We operate three properties:

Mataguay Scout Ranch, Camp Balboa, and the Youth

Aquatic Center. Support for these programs and

properties comes from generous donors like you!

Many people think of a business’ annual budget in terms

of dollars for broad categories such as employee salaries

or paying the monthly utility bill – but for a Boy Scout

council, it is much more. Instead think of the council’s

annual budget as

the ink and paper

needed for a flier distributed at a school to

educate boys and their parents about the fun and

adventure of Cub Scouting. It is the tents a Scout

sleeps in while on his adventure at Mataguay

Scout Ranch. It is the labor and materials needed

to renovate a building at Camp Balboa.

Project Sales and Gifts-In-Kind rely on the council

receiving resources in a timely manner. There

are four ways for you to participate in these

campaigns and provide relief to the Council

budget:

Project sales and gifts-in-kind can be an

integral part of helping the San Diego-Imperial

Council deliver quality programs and services

to our community. Specific items and services

can be donated to alleviate budgeted

expenses for the current year. Items including

office supplies, camp program supplies, camp

maintenance materials, medical supplies,

food/kitchen items, and much more!

The objective of our project sales campaign is to find support and sponsorship of the

annual operating budget to an organization, corporation, or individual.

Example: A company offers to contribute cases of paper for our internal printing

operation. Instead of going to an outside

vendor for the same item, we can utilize the

donated paper which provides operating

budgetary support. Cash donations

designated for a particular item are also

welcome.

Gift-in-kind example: A person would like to

donate a canoe for camp. Although there

may be a need for the canoe, it may not be

budgeted as a current year operating expense item. Although we may decide to accept it

and use it, the donation does not support the operating budget

and would be credited as a gift-in-kind rather than a project

sale.

Donations are tax deductible and all donors will receive

acknowledgement for their support.
