Kevin Dates

Brenden Backus

CFO - Principal

Owners, Brenden and Kevin, grew up in the fabrication

industry. Their extensive background and thirst for

adventure led them to Las Vegas, Nevada where they held

executive management positions at a well known theming

company. This is where Kevin and Brenden cut their teeth

and fell in love with themed design. Several of the projects in

this portfolio are from their experience in Las Vegas. They

brought the knowledge and expertise they learned as well as

several key personnel from Las Vegas to Phoenix, New York.

As PWF has grown, their past experiences has helped grow

their business locally.

With the advent of NYS Gaming and the local economy

growing, Kevin, Brenden, and the PWF Team have become

the leaders in themed design in Central New York. PWF’s

team delivers exceptional quality on time and on budget,

from coast to coast.

TCGplayer

The Galleries of Syracuse

Syracuse, NY

PWF was asked to create this medieval gate to go along

with the themeing of TCGplayers new office. The gate

was built with light weight steel tubing allowing a

decrease in the overall weight yet giving it an old heavy

metal feel.

St. Lawrence Skiff North Country Welcome Center

Alexandria Bay, NY

PWF was tasked with recreating an authentic St

Lawrence skiff. To do this we 3D modeled the skiff,

carved the hull from high density foam, hard coated

the foam with polyurea and hand painted creating an

authentic look.

Castle Playstructure

North Country Welcome Center

Alexandria Bay, NY

PWF fabricated this play structure out of steel and

GRFC panels. The rock work was hand carved and

colored to the customers specifications along with

various play items for children to play with.

Gibbons Enclosure

Utica Zoo

Utica, NY

PWF 3D modeled, fabricated and installed a new

enclosure for the Utica Zoo’s Gibbons Apes. The

enclosure featured a galvanized and powder coated

steel frame with custom black oxide coated stainless

steel mesh.

Historic Marquee Recreation

State Tower Building

Syracuse, NY

PWF recreated 2 historic marquees using original

pieces provided by the customer. Molds were

fabricated and used to cast new GRFP parts. The new

parts were attached to a custom aluminum frame it was

then hand painted and installed.

Paddle Bar – Decorative Features Point Place Casino

Bridgeport, NY

For the Paddle Bar PWF retrofitted hand built wooden

canoes with LED lights along with building custom

handrails and a bottle rack.

Fireside Lounge – Copper Fireplace Point Place Casino

Bridgeport, NY

The centerpiece of the Fireside Lounge is a

copper wood burning fireplace built by

PWF. With a modern electronic exhaust

system but an antique look it provides a

perfect marriage of modern convince and

old school look and feel.

New York State Police Rappel Tower New York State Fair

Syracuse, NY

PWF built a 65’ rappelling tower located at the NYS

fairgrounds for the NY State Police. The Police use the

tower to demonstrate their tactical units abilities.

New York State Police Dive Tank New York State Fair

Syracuse, NY PWF built a Dive Tank located at the NYS fairgrounds for the NY

State Police. The Police use the tank to demonstrate their dive units

abilities. Being 20’ x 8’ x 11’ it gives them more space than their

previous exhibit.

Cyclone of Cash Yellow Brick Road Casino

Chittenango, NY

The Cyclone of Cash is the center piece of the

Yellow Brick Road Casino, it is a full functioning

money grab machine intertwined in a cyclone. PWF

provided the pixel lighting and controls along with

coordinating interfacing this with the house

lighting. Total time for this project was 28 day

start to finish.

Log Themed Sales Display Tin Woodsman’s Flask Liquor Store

When the Tin Woodmans Flask

Liquor Store needed something

different for there grand opening

they came to PWF. PWF created

these custom shelves using GFRG,

rubber bark and faux finishing.

Marquees Marriott Syracuse

Syracuse, NY

The Hotel Syracuse

was a staple in the

city of Syracuse for

many years. After

falling on hard

times and being

abandon for many

years a developer

decided to revive it

to its past grandeur.

PWF was honored to

be asked to

reconstruct the

Marquees.

Unfortunately the

original molds

where no longer

available so replicas

where hand carved

in clay. Rubber

molds where made

and then urethane

parts where made.

the loggia out of GFRC.

Wild Walk The Wild Center Museum

Tupper Lake, NY

The Wild Walk is a nature walk

located in the Adirondacks.

Starting off at ground level and

climbing up to 40’ in height.

PWF built all the elements at

our shop and then

disassembled them and

reassembled them onsite. This

project involved many skill sets

including, design, metal work,

carpentry, rigging, finishing,

and many others.

Golden Dragon Turning Stone Casino & Resort Verona, NY

During a recent renovation

Turning Stone Casino &

Resort turned to PWF to

create a dragon for their high

limit room. The steel

sculpture has individual

scales welded together and

backlit using LED’s.

Gaming Floor Awnings Turning Stone Casino & Resort

Verona, NY

Custom Aluminum frames covered in

fabric were built for Turning Stone’s

Gaming floor remodel. All the

fabrication and fabric work was done

in house.

To complement the awnings

PWF created these canopies.

The main section was built

out of GFRG and are covered

in fabric. Once built the

canopies where to be

installed at night to keep

disruption at the casino to a

minimum.

Season’s Harvest Buffet Awnings Turning Stone Casino & Resort Verona, NY

Turning Stone Casino & Resort wanted to add

some decorative awnings to their buffet. They

are a fully welded aluminum frame covered in

fabric. All the aluminum and fabric work was

done in house.

Handrail & Miscellaneous Metal Work SUNY Albany

Albany, NY

When another contractor failed PWF was

asked to help. We built this beautiful solid

aluminum handrail with a bronze cap and

an anodized finish. In the end PWF built

and installed 1800’ of railing.

Over 12,000 individual LED nodes where used to

create this one of a kind virtual display.
