PARALLEL SESSION B1 – ARTICLE 12 AND CHANGES IN THE WORLD OF ITALIAN PAYMENTS Many changes are affecting the national payments system: from the measures contained in Article 12 of the “Salva Italia” Decree law on the Public Administration payments, through the “basic account” to the digital transmission of cheque images. Promote the use of electronic payment instruments for citizens, companies, Public Administrations, banks to increase efficiency and efficacy in the relationship between the stakeholders: this is the common aim of these different initiatives. What will actually change with the new provisions, also from the sociological point of view? Does e-‐government really have a potential to achieve for Italy?
