To download the companion software for your laptop/desktop computer go to the company web site http://www.splashtop.com/remoteThen click on the Get Streamer icon on the right hand side of the screen.

Note you are given information about which operating system needs to be running your computer for the streamer software to work. The download and installation process is the same as you would use for any other application program.

If installation of the program does not start automatically, find the downloaded package on your computer and double click.

The installation package will be opened or extracted (windows) double click on the installation package to begin installing the application on your computer.

SplashTop Streamer Appears in Application File

Locate the application in your Application Folder (Mac) or Programs file (Windows) double click to start up the program.

SplashTop Icon in Menu Bar

When the program is running a new icon appears in the top Menu Bar.

Prferences Options

Adjustments to the SplashTop Remote Desktop application are made under preferences. When you first begin using the program you must go under preferences to set up a password.

Splashtop® Streamer Preference Window

The tabs you are concerned with are SETTINGS and SECURITY. IGNORE any message you might see about signing in with your Google account. Just click any where outside this message to make it disappear.

Splashtop® Streamer Settings Options

The default under settings activates both options. We are recommending that you turn off the second option. If this option remains on your computer will automatically try to pair with any tablet device running SplashTop Remore Desktop.

Splashtop® Streamer Security Options

You must enter a security code (password) here. When you first pair the computer with the tablet you will be asked to enter the same security code on your tablet device.

Tablet Opening Screen

The desktop sharing process will be started once you touch (select) the name of your computer.

After selecting the computer you want to pair with you will be asked to enter the security code.

If on subsequent pairings you get a response that the codes do not match, just go back to the Preferences of SplashTop Desktop Remote program on your client computer and re-enter a security code under the Security tab.

Click on the continue button found at the bottom of the Hints screen to move past it. Near the continue button you will also see an option to turn this window off in the future.

Tablet Screen is the Same as Client Computer Desktop

When the tablet (iPad/Android) and the host computer are paired the screen on the tablet will be the same as the screen on the laptop/desktop computer. Control of applications, window arrangement etc. can be done from either device. The teacher can complete the TeachTown login in process as usual on the desktop computer and the student interact with the TeachTown program on the tablet and respond through touching the tablet screen.
