How would you feel if asked to perform in one of San Francisco’s most beautiful theaters, surrounded by sumptuous red curtains, red velvet chairs, century-old frescos and chandeliers, and 700 audience members eagerly awaiting your performance? Nervous? Excited? Confident? On April 27th, seven of our community members will be feeling all of these things and more as they await their turn on stage during our annual A Night with the Stars event.

These performers are a special group - chosen from a multi-day audition process, they represent Community Housing Partnership’s community of formerly homeless individuals working towards self-sufficiency through our supportive housing. With 16 residences in San Francisco, we serve over 1,500 people with housing, case management, employment training, social enterprise, youth programs, and community organizing and resident engagement services. In 2016, we are slated to add 300 new apartments to our portfolio, increasing our impact by nearly 20%.

A Night with the Stars is CHP’s premier fundraiser and plays a crucial role in safeguarding our work and mission over the next year. Our theme this year, “Dynamic Duos,” brings to mind the power of partnership. In the case of A Night with the Stars, our community partners are the key to the event’s success.

AT A GLANCE

Guided by its mission to help homeless people secure housing and become self-sufficient, Community Housing Partnership is San Francisco’s only nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to providing supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals and families.

CHP formed in 1990, pioneering a service delivery model that paired housing with on-site services. The model revolutionized the way we approach the challenge of homelessness and has since been nationally recognized as evidence-based and cost effective.

Today, CHP owns, property manages, and/or provides integrated behavioral health, case management, job training and placement, and community organizing & resi-dent engagement services at 16 properties (over 1,100 homes) throughout San Fran-cisco. CHP’s housing and services impact the lives of over 1,500 formerly homeless adults and children annually. With 300 new units in the development pipeline, this number continues to grow.

JOIN THE EXCITEMENTA Night with the Stars is a completely unique San Francisco event that showcases the talent of some very special performers - our very own tenants! In this year’s show, seven Community Housing Partnership residents will perform alongside a professional mentor after months of preparation. Our performers have already overcome many barriers as a result of their homelessness; this performance provides them an opportunity to shine.

Before the show, VIP guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, wine and beer in the San Francisco War Memorial’s beautiful Green Room.
