SPOONVILLE!
Welcome to Spoonville! We would love to grow our village, so grab a
spoon and get decorating! A few things to know about
Spoonies…
Spoonies love the outdoors but litter makes them sad, so try
to make sure anything you add to your spoon will stay put in
the wind and rain. (Also nail polish is good
for rain proof faces!)
Spoonies are afraid of dogs, please keep your
dogs away from them so they feel safe.
Please respect our spoonies, if
it’s not your scene, let it be. Our Spoonville village will be set up out the front of the school shortly —look out for the signs!
Mrs Nicholls’ Notes
What another great week at RPS!
Our Preps did a great job celebrating their 100 days at school, photos are attached to the
newsletter. I have seen lots of different ways that our Preps celebrated with their families,
some included having ice cream cakes, one of my all-time favourites! YUM!
We are about mid-way through this remote learning period. At this time we can all start to
feel uneasy and a bit on edge. This is normal and we all go through this feeling. Just make
sure that you are looking after yourself. I am talking to you parents! Think about when you
are on a plane and you listen to the safety instructions. They always say to fit your oxygen
mask first as then you can help others. This is the same when dealing with this pandemic.
Make sure you are looking after yourself so you can look after your family.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind all families that when you are engaging in
a Google classroom session it is just like being in class. It is an expectation that all students
are sitting up watching the session and taking part as they would if they were in class. It is
also an expectation that all students be dressed in appropriate school clothing and sitting
in a location that is beneficial for learning.
This year’s Attitude To School survey has been extended into Term 4. This is valuable
information that the school uses and I welcome the idea that we will have the opportunity to
complete the survey once we return to school. Parents of students in Years 3-6 will receive
more information about the survey and how it is conducted in the near future.
Keep up the sensational work, you are all doing an amazing job.
Have a great week and stay safe!

Enrolments for 2021 If you are intending to enrol your child for the 2021 school year please lodge your enrolment forms with the school as soon as possible. The earlier we receive enrolments the more accurate our planning is for the next school year. If you know of any families intending to enrol their children please alert them to this information. Enrolment packs are available from the office, the Romsey Kindergarten and the child care centre in Romsey. Please note that we cannot accept an enrolment until we have a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
From the office…..
Remote Learning Attendances Hi everyone. Can we just remind all parents that we require your child to log in from home to record their attendance each morning (by about 8.45 or so) or, if you cannot log on, please phone the school to let us know that they are doing their remote learning. It is important to log on early—some children are logging on later in the morning and thus being recorded as absent because the teacher has already marked the roll for the day. This does not always get amended before we send out sms reminders to explain absenc-es, which is causing some confusion and a little bit of angst for parents. If your child is not doing their edu-cational program on any day for any reason (illness, appointments etc) we need to record this as an ab-sence, so you will need to inform the school in the usual way. If we send you an sms regarding attendance please respond to it.
Remote Learning Photos We are loving seeing your photos of your home learning activities! Please keep sending them in so that we can share them on Facebook and in our newsletter. There is some amazing and creative learning going on so keep up the good work. The Facebook post for the week will be open until 3:00pm every Wednesday in time for the newsletter to go out each Thursday. Please note that unless you have returned a ‘permission to publish’ form, we are unable to publish your child’s photo.
Returning Work Completed Work Packs / Submitting Work Online Thank you to everyone who is submitting their home learning tasks online on a regular basis or returning completed work packs. If you are returning work packs please make sure that you put your full name and your class on each sheet so that we can easily get it to your classroom teacher. We do understand that it is not always possible to get through every task every week—sometimes family commitments or illness or other things interrupt your studies, but please keep sending in whatever work you have achieved and keep doing your best!

could be added to that clip? Caregiving can mean looking after
and caring for others.
Spend the next 5 minutes showing care to someone today.

Remote Learning 2.0 Week 7
ART This week students looked at a number of different artists and learnt about abstract
art. We investigated a range of different artists
including Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Deb McNaughton, Lee Krasner, Agnes Martin, Wassily Kandinsky & Helen Frankenthaler.
We looked at how artists used shape, colour, line and texture in their work.
Our students have done a fabulous job of using a range of different materials to create
amazing abstract art this week.
