Sports performers need a balance between intrinsic & extrinsic motivation.
Too many extrinsic rewards (money, trophies, etc) can reduce a performer’s own intrinsic motivation (drive, passion ,etc)
NACH?Need To Achieve

they want.

do.

Seek independence
Find it rewarding to be
challenged

• Always knows he will be the second choice Goalkeeper but is happy with that.
• Has a laid back approach• Is happy to take the easy route• Knows he isn’t the best in Goal
3. Concentration
• What do you define as concentration? Give me some examples....
• Concentration...is the ability of a sports performer to process information and maintain focus
• To process information, a sports performer has to make sense of the information they are presented with and decide on the course of action to take. If the performer becomes overloaded with information it can negatively affect their performance
