Sport scholarships& athlete benefits
The University of Bath offers financial scholarships to individuals who display exceptional quality both academically andathletically in their sport. In 2013, 23 newand continuing sport scholarships wereawarded with great success. In order toapply for a scholarship in 2013-2014, the following criteria must be achieved;
• Scholarships will only be awarded to athletes who have a conditional offer on a course at the University of Bath.
• Potential applicants must provide information and results that indicate a potential for elite international performance and contribute to British Universities and Colleges Sport championships points (BUCS).
• Applicants must seek proof of recommendation from their own coach and/or from the University’s coach in their respective sport.
• Athletes need to achieve agreed standards of academic and athletic performance to continue to receive scholarships after their first year.

The Team Bath Support Programme, called “On the Podium” is available to all athletes training at the University of Bath, ranging in performance level from British University Championships (BUCS) 1st team to Olympic or World Championships level. In addition, many of the Team Bath priority sports provide additional sport science and medicine support. Deadline for applications is 1st October 2013.
The Trendell Sports Scholarships
• Up to £1000 per annum for three years (conditions apply).
• Sports: Athletics, badminton, football, hockey, judo, netball, rugby, swimming or tennis.
Santander Sports Scholarships
• Awards range between £2000-£5000 over the duration of the athlete’s course (conditions apply).
• Applicants must be from the UK, Iberamerican or Iberian Peninsular countries.
• Any recognised sport can apply.
British Swimming Intensive Training Centre (ITC) Scholarships - supported by British Gas and Santander
• These awards are for athletes who are studying a degree or vocational programme at the University and are members of the ITC British Swim squad.
• Awards range from £1000-£3000 per annum.
• One scholarship place will be allocated to a Podium funded athlete who is not studying at the University but does represent the ITC / University.
Closing date for this application is 6th September 2013.
The Bill Whiteley Sports Scholarship
• This scholarship awards one new scholar each year, £5000 each year, for up to four years.
• Applicant must be from the UK or EU.
• Applicant must be accepted on a full time undergraduate degree of at least 3yrs duration in the School of Management, Faculty of Engineering and Design or Department of Economics.
• Applicants must have at least two A’s and a B (or equivalent) at A Level.
• Any recognised sport can apply.
Ivor Powell Scholarships
• These awards are up to £1000 per annum for three years (conditions apply).
• Any recognised sport can apply.

Team Bath Athlete Benefits The Team Bath sports environment at the University ofBath offers athletes the opportunity to optimise criticalfactors for athletic development and performance“under one roof”. Athlete benefits are awarded throughthe Team Bath Athlete Support Services Grant, theElite Athlete Support Fund and the Team Bath Support Programme (called On the Podium).
Team Bath Athlete Support Services GrantThis grant affords athletes training at the University access to sport science and medicine services to thevalue of £1200 per annum to assist in their pursuit ofperformance excellence. Awards are given for one year in duration and selection is made on the athlete's potential for development and success.
Deadline for applications is 1st November 2013.
The Elite Athlete Support FundThe University of Bath can offer financial assistance to students on any level of the Team Bath support programme, to compete at an international universitycompetition. University students are entitled to apply for support towards certain costs incurred whilst competing.
