Welcome to the Salisbury Sport newsletter, providing you with an update on sport and recreation activities within the City of Salisbury. The Christmas School Holidays are just around the corner and we encourage you to get out and about and enjoy the many ways you can be active in your local community, meet new people and have lots of fun. Table Tennis A new after-school table tennis competition is coming to the Gardens Recreation Centre. Registrations are now open for 2014. Public SwimmingThe Salisbury Swimming Centre is now open for the summer season from 6.00am. We’re also introducing some great new programs and initiatives this season, including $2 entry between 3.00pm and 7.00pm each week night for any for students who attend a school located within the City of Salisbury.

Swim lessonsOur 30 minute lessons teach your children valuable water safety skills in a fun, friendly and controlled environment. All instructors are qualified, accredited and entertain your children whilst teaching them at the same time. We offer eight levels of lessons ranging from children aged two years to adults.

MILO In2CricketThere’s no better way to spend a day than with new friends learning how to play cricket! With the MILO In2Cricket program, both girls and boys not only get to learn awesome skills for an awesome game, they also get to have some awesome fun. This is an eight week program for five to eight year olds.

Sport for People with Disability

BocciaBoccia is a skillful, exciting and strategic sport that was developed to cater for people with varying levels of physical impairment, it provides pathways to the Paralympics and is a truly inclusive sport that can be enjoyed by all.

BasketballThis is a fantastic session for those who want to get even more out of life by enjoying one of Australia’s favourite past-times, basketball! The North Eastern Inclusive Basketball program is a non-competitive basketball program based on maximum participation for people with a disability.

The games are played with modified rules so everyone is welcome to participate. Opportunities are available for both females and males of all ages and abilities.

AFL 9’sAFL 9’s ‘the game for everyone’ is a fast, free-flowing game that involves nine players on each team playing on a smaller field. Best of all, it’s mixed ‘touch football’ with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for people of any age or skill level.

MLC TENNIS HOTSBe in the first 100 to sign up for MLC Tennis Hot Shots at the clubs below and receive a FREE tennis racquet.

MLC Tennis Hot Shots is just for kids. Smaller courts, lighter racquets and low compression balls that don’t bounce too high make learning tennis fun and easy for primary school aged children.
