INTRODUCTION

SPREE INTEGRATED BUSINESS STRATEGY

Spree has a vertically integrated strategy whereby it provides cleaning and related facility solutions to customers across specialised vertical markets. This strategy provides access to multiple profit pools and enables Spree to provide endless value in its service delivery model.

At Spree, when we think about “sustainability” we don’t just think about the environment; we also think about our responsibilities to all our stakeholders — our employees, our customers and our communities.

During the past 12 months, we have undergone some significant enhancements. Our Purpose, Vision, Mission & Values are all aligned with our key objectives to build a sustainable future for many generations. As we enter the development of a new era, we will continue to remain strongly committed to our core Purpose, Vision, Mission & Values.

In 2013–14, Spree’s safety and sustainable priorities remain extremely high on its corporate objectives. Over the last 12 months, we made a conscious effort to adopt sustainable work practices across all business facets and directed a major focus on safety. This is a period that will see Spree become a true market leader not only in its service delivery model, but also in its IT Systems, Workplace Safety & Customer Service. We anticipate that we will achieve many of our long term objectives as well as roll-out many of the ongoing improvements we have in the pipeline. There is no doubting that the cost of delivering cleaning services is increasing across Australia due to the ongoing pressures of labour rate increases. While we are focused on working with our customers to maximise service efficiency, we recognise that for a proportion of clients, these price rises will increase operating expenses. In this context, we will continue to seek and develop more productive ways of delivering our services without jeopardising our quality.

DEVELOPING WORLD-CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICESpree is committed to being a world-class customer-focused cleaning and facility service company. We are one of Australia’s most innovative providers of cleaning and facility services. With a target rate of 98% for customer service satisfaction, it was disappointing that we were unable to reach this target, achieving a rate of only 93% in 2013–14. However, we seek to achieve a 98% satisfaction rate for the period of 2014–15.

ENGAGEMENT AND SAFETY OF OUR PEOPLE Our vision is to be an employer of choice, recognising that our people are critical to the ongoing long-term success of our business. This year, we achieved an 18% improvement in employee engagement, through many of the internal training programs we conducted to help our people better understand the life-blood of our organisation. Our goal for 2014–15 is to improve engagement sufficiently to reach Best Employer status. The Spree management team believes that the safety and wellbeing of our employees are of paramount importance. Our safety objective at Spree is to continue our perfect safety record of ZERO / ZERO, near misses and injuries respectively.

LOCAL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Over the past 12 months, we have continued to consult with communities where we are developing our engagement in providing our services. More broadly, we have tried to continue supporting the wider community in which we service through various sponsorships programs. In summary, this report documents our performance and how we will consider and address future challenges in 2015.

MEASURING PERFORMANCE

Spree’s 2013–14 Sustainability Report provides a new framework within which Spree will report the performance of key sustainable activities. Four strategic indicators of success have been established that will allow us to track performance over time. All of the activity and initiatives within the business will contribute towards improvement in one or more of these 4 indicators. Importantly, Spree will work closely with its clients during 2014–15 as a means to set sustainable targets so that each objective’s performance can be quantified, demonstrating the attributes of a partnership Spree wishes to develop over the longer term.

Thank you for your support during 2013–14 and we would like to ask you to identify your 2015 sustainability objectives for the following areas:

1. Water Usage2. Electricity3. Chemical Usage4. Waste Management

We would greatly appreciate all objectives to be submitted by the 31th October 2014. If you need assistance setting your objectives please give us a call on 1300 788 080 and we’ll be happy to help.
