Easter Season Dates

Lenten Cross Project For as in one body we have many members,

and not all the members have the same function, so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members of one another. - Romans 12:4-5

During Lent of 2012 we all came together and created a beau ful cross, that represented the diversity of our membership. In the past three years our membership has changed and grown and the Children’s Ministry team and Chris an Educa on commi ee would like to

refurbish the cross, to give it a fresh new look for Easter 2015. We are asking you to help us once again celebrate our unity and our diversity as the Body of Christ with this special Lenten project. All you need to do is pick up a cross template in the narthex or in the church office. Use the template to create your own unique cross. Create your cross out of any material that might be meaningful to you or your family. Materials might include, but are not limited to wood, leather, painted paper, a drawing, clay, cardboard, fabric, wire, beads, ribbon – the possibili es are endless. You may want to a ach a special item that reminds you of the meaning of Easter. To make a beau ful Easter cross we need each of you to par cipate; this project is for everyone, no ma er what your age or what you think your ar s c ability might be. Bring your completed cross to the church office any me on or before Wednesday, March 25. Together we will create a beau ful cross to cele-brate Easter!

This past week the crosses from 2012 were removed and you will find them on the hospitality table in the narthex Please take the cross that you made previously home with you. All of the crosses that are not claimed will be taken to pa ents in a local nursing home.

A Hymnal for all generations From "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" and "Awesome God" to "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" to "You are My All in All.” These are all hymns you will find in the Glory to God Hymnal. We have been singing music from this new hym-nal for several years… they are the songs printed in your bulle n!

Our Session has endorsed a campaign for members to purchase the Glory to God hymnals for use by our church. This can be done in memory or honor of a loved one and a bookplate will be placed in the front cover of the hymnal. We will have order forms and envelopes in the Narthex, order forms on our web-site, and also available in the Church Office.

Please consider purchasing some at the low price of $20. It can be a las ng memorial or honorarium to those you love. We hope to have enough to pur-

chase 500 hymnals by May 1 so we will have them here to start the new Sunday School year in September. If you would like to view a copy of the hymnal you can go online to pcusastore.com or go by the church office.

New Outdoor classroom Check out the before and a er photos of the new outdoor classroom on the Children’s Corner Preschool playground. Workers dug out the old pebble cement and it was replaced (thanks to some manual labor from Mr. Sco and Dewayne Bannister) with new playground les made from recycled rubber. The students and teachers can now enjoy the outdoors (as soon as this COLD, COLD weather goes away) in some shade and comfort! How fun!
