News Con’d
If you have any motions for the upcoming Annual General Meeting in November, please give them
to Secretary Iven Fedor. They need to be circulated to all members 21 days prior to the AGM.
Treasure Cheryl Kitto has offered that if you would like to pay off your Centurion donations weekly,
you csn do so. A few dollars a week extra, is often easier to find than $100 when due. Also, a few
Foundation towers remain so they will be brought to the next meeting.
Liz Roberts expressed her great appreciation for all of the work and
contributions done by Adam Law (a very special thank you) andto our
other Rotarians from our Club at the Buckland Fete last Saturday. Despite
the windy day, it was a very successful financial venture.
Shelterbox - The most recent newsletter is looking for people with
enthusiasm and a desire to enact real change. We have a number of fun,
interesting volunteer opportunities. For further information about how you
can get involved, please speak to Geoff Glassock.
Carol Brandt (Vocational) is seeking ideas or support for these ideas for
future vocational nights. Let Carol know what you think, or suggest
another idea.
Dudley Mercer, Chair of Australian Rotary Health, spoke at opuir meeting
last Monday night. Another great Rotyary activity. In conjuction with this,
ARH is holding a dinner on the 19th
October (see ad.) and Central Blue
Mountains is holding an Aussie Hat Night on 11th
October.
Two trips to Cambodia…
Jenney
Last Monday night Dudley Mercer, District Chair of the Australian
Rotary Health Committee, spoke at our meeting. It was a great
presentation. Dudley was introduced by Dee Covington, also a
member of the ARH Committee, and thanked by David Rayner.
Jenny Thomas was in the
swing of things at the Lower
Blue Movie night for
“Victoria and Abdul” – quite
dressed for the occasion. Well
done, Jenny.
Just a few photos from
our Bunnings BBQ
last Saturday - a very
windy but successful
day.
Groceries Collected at Aldi Stores
Umina Beach Store for Mary
Mac’s Place to Feed the Homeless During the weekend 9th & 10th
September a dozen volunteer Umina
Rotarians manned trolleys at ALDI
Umina Store, collecting donated
groceries and cash from generous
shoppers to take to Mary Mac’s
Place. Mary Mac’s Place feeds 70 –
80 homeless people every day and
have laundry and bathroom facilities
available for them. For the second
time we collected a “Ute Load” of
groceries and this re-filled the pantry
of Mary Mac’s Place again.
Adam having a short rest on
the Buckland’s Fete Day. The
day was a great success, and
the support of our Club
members was really
appreciated.
