Office 365 is a subscription based version of Microsoft's Office Suite of applications. You can download the MS Office 365 suite on up to 5 computers, either PC or a Mac. The version offered through SRSU includes a downloadable version of the following

• Word   • Excel  • PowerPoint    • Outlook    • OneNote    

With SRSU Office 365 Online you’ll get up to 6 GB of cloud-based storage along with extra applications and collaborative features, so you have the power and flexibility to get things done from virtually anywhere. 1. To  access  your  MS  Office  365  suite  you  will  need  to  open  a  web  browser  and  type  in  the  following  URL  in  the  browsers  address  field  (or  click  on  the  link):    https://login.microsoftonline.com

4. The  initial  sign-­‐in  MS  Office  365  sign-­‐in  screen  will  look  like  this:      

To sign in, use your full SRSU Email address (Example: testo365@sulross.edu). No password is required on this page. Click your tab key to move to next screen. 3. When you click the tab, you will be redirected to the screen below.

a. In  the  User  name  field,  type  in  ONLY  the  username  part  (Example:  testo365)  of  your  email  address  

b. Type  in  your  SRSU  password  c. Choose  Sign  In  

 

4. If  you  see  the  screen  below,  choose  Software  under  the  Settings  menu  on  the  left  side  of  the

screen.      

On the Software screen, you’ll see a pop-up on the top right of your screen that says “Microsoft Office For Free”. At the bottom of the pop-up, choose the Install Now link.

5. Now you should be at the Install Office on your PC screen. Choose the Install Now button at the left of the screen to download the MS Office 365 suite to your computer! (NOTE: You may wish to first click off the optional Bing search and MSN browser homepage features before installing).

6. Office will appear in the downloads bar, double-click to begin. A dialog box will

appear, click Run. (NOTE: You’ll need to uninstall any previous version of MS Office from your computer BEFORE installing Office 365)

ACCESSING YOUR MS OFFICE 365 ONLINE SUITE Your Microsoft Office 365 Online can be found by clicking on the “app launcher” cube at

the top left of the Office 365 homepage screen. A fly-out menu with all your Office 365 online application choices will appear.

The version of Office 365 Online offered through SRSU includes cloud-based versions of the following:

STORING YOUR FILES ON MS OFFICE 365 ONEDRIVE OneDrive for Business is the place to store and share your work documents in the cloud. All content you store in OneDrive for Business is private until you decide to share it with other people. View and edit Office documents in Office Online or open them for viewing or editing in their Office applications. Use OneDrive for Business in your web browser or sync it to your computer to access content locally and when you’re offline.
