Recording Studio and Musician’s Lounge

The SRS Recording Studio and Musician’s Lounge optimizes its surrounding scenic landscape to open the isolated functions of a musical production space into an inspirational atmosphere where artists can create new music. It plays on different volumes, textures, and densities to break up the existing structural mass within its landscape. The recording studio separates and reconnects isolated rooms from

the live room by facing each isolated room with glass and angling it towards the live room. Window “slits” level up along the west façade, providing momentary glimpses of outside, as well as inside. The smaller isolated rooms exaggerate the scale of these same windows for a more intimate user experience.

The musician’s lounge has full side views and a separate entrance to the outdoors, displacing musicians from “work” into creative down time.
