Over the past few months, the focus of our Teen Group sessions has been on getting to know various people in the bible. Through these sessions, we’ve learned how to identify characteristics that we have in common. We’ve also identified challenges that our biblical ancestors faced, and how they are very similar to challenges we face today. We were even able to look at how they over-came their obstacles and how to apply those same prin-ciples to our lives today.
King David, for example, was an outcast as a child. He was small in stature and took a lot of teasing as a young boy. His brothers and dad felt that he would never amount to anything and they put him out in the fields to tend sheep. Little did he know that all this time, God was preparing him for great things. He went on to slay a giant using only a slingshot, and was eventually made king. There were a lot of bumps along the way, but through it all he depended on the stability of friends, God’s for-
giveness, and the talents and gifts that God provided.
In the spirit of King David and all that we learned about his life, I would like to offer the following prayer for our graduating seniors this weekend as they start out on their journey, living the life that God has planned for them.
May you be content with who and where you are. Take time to discern and discover your gifts and talents, and how God is calling you to use them. Have the humility to admit when you are wrong, and ask God for for-giveness. I pray that you always have a community that is concerned for your holiness and the holiness of all its members. Amen.
This time of year means a lot of students in transition, from one grade to another, from high school to college, and from high school or college into the work force. Please join me in holding all of our students and young adults in prayer.

Looking at the Gospel for this Sunday Happy Trinity Sunday! In today's Gospel, we hear Jesus declare together all three Persons of the Trinity. "Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
When we speak of the Trinity, two different theologi-cal words are sometimes used: immanent and eco-nomic. The immanent Trinity is the life of the three Persons within themselves, the inner harmonious rela-tionship between Father, Son, and Spirit. We see this
in the Gospels when Jesus speaks of his Father and promises to send the Holy Spirit. The term "economic" has its roots in the Greek word oikonomia, roughly meaning "household man-
agement." The economic Trinity is our three-Personed God's relationship with creation; it is creation and redemption and ongoing relationship with us.
Made in the image and likeness of God, we are called to imitate God's immanence by giving and receiving love with one another in community. Howev-er, this is not limited only to those close to us, though that's where love often starts. We also imitate the economy of God when we go out, when we extend our love and care in a life-giving way.
Every believer is invited to follow Jesus and the Apostles to the margins, to the people who require a little extra reach. This could be a distant relative, the residents of your local homeless shelter or even the forgotten neigh-bor next door! When we love well, we create something beautiful-a relationship, a holy moment, a foretaste of heaven. This Trinity Sunday, take some time to examine the relationships in your life. How well do you love those nearest to you? How well do you reach out to those far-ther away? How are you creating something beautiful? © Liturgical Publications Inc
