Picnic Sponsors, Donors, & Gift Cards
Each year, one of the many things that contributes to the success of our annual Parish Picnic, is the fact that our parishioners step up to help Sponsor the Picnic, to make cash donations (so the committee can purchase needed supplies and other items), and to donate Gift Cards that can be used as prizes and incentives.
Once again, this year, we are in need of all of these items! If each adult parishioner would respond to one of these needs, we will be most grateful — and the success of this year’s picnic will be assured!
Please contact Margo Thorsen in the parish office; 920.435.7548 for assistance in making your donation.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
In today's Gospel, Jesus asks that we be a good neighbor and "treat the poor with mercy."
When you contribute to St. Vincent de Paul, you follow Jesus’ command to "Go and do likewise.”
Your money contributions in the first half of this year amounted to $2,230. With your support we were able to help ten families in the month of June with housing, transportation, and laundry assistance.
Please help us to "Go and do likewise" by becoming a Contributing Member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Take a plain envelope, mark it SVDP, add your contribution, and put it in the collection basket. You have now become a Vincentian!
A Blessed Sunday to You! ~ Paul Novotny

One By One Capital Campaign
As we consider our own unique call to missionary discipleship, we must first consider what we have experienced in our own lives that led us to our discovery of Jesus. Perhaps it was the encouraging words of the Gospel, the charitable act of a friend, or a simple conversation with a friend about faith. Or, perhaps, it was from your family passing the faith on to you.
Today, we are called to bring that abundant, incredible hope to others through our support of the One-by-One Campaign. Our parish will retain half of all the funds raised (from our parishioners) to be used for parish needs.
To learn more, and to make your gift today, contact the parish office, visit the One by One website: one.catholic foundationgb.org, or call Josh Diedrich toll-free at 877-500-3580, ext. 8197.

Dear & Good People of God,
Welcome to the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time!
\
During these weeks of Summer, I have de-cided to share with you from the Sunday Reflections of someone who I know is a favorite of yours—as he is of mine: Dr. Scott Hahn.
Scriptural Meditation from Dr. Scott Hahn
We are to love God and our neighbor with all the strength of our being, as the scholar of the Law answers Jesus in this week’s Gospel.
This command is nothing remote or mysterious—it’s already written in our hearts, in the book of Sacred Scripture. “You have only to carry it out,” Moses says in this week’s First Reading.
Jesus tells His interrogator the same thing: “Do this and you will live.”
The scholar, however, wants to know where he can draw the line. That’s the motive behind his question: “Who is my neighbor?”
In his compassion, the Samaritan in Jesus’ parable reveals the boundless mercy of God—who came down to us when we were fallen in sin, close to dead, unable to pick ourselves up.
Jesus is “the image of the invisible God,” this week’s Epistle tells us. In Him, the love of God has come very near to us. By the “blood of His Cross”—by bearing His neighbors’ sufferings in His own body, being Himself stripped and beaten and left for dead—He saved us from bonds of sin, reconciled us to God and to one another.
Like the Samaritan, He pays the price for us, heals the wounds of sin, pours out on us the oil and wine of the sacraments, entrusts us to the care of His Church, until He comes back for us.
Because His love has known no limits, ours cannot either. We are to love as we have been loved, to do for others what He has done for us—joining all things together in His Body, the Church.
We are to love like the singer of this week’s Psalm—like those whose prayers have been answered, like those whose lives have been saved, who have known the time of His favor, have seen God in His great mercy turn toward us.
This is the love that leads to eternal life, the love Jesus commands today of each of us—“Go and do likewise.”
QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK:
We are to love as we have been loved: What can I do this week, to love others as I have been loved?
Considering how merciful God is to me, How can I show such mercy now to others?

Are Your Children Registered for the Year?
Our parish is fortunate to be able to offer an excellent Faith Formation/Religious Education program for all of your children in grades 1 through 12.
The price is right: Only $55 for new students, and then $45 for returning students. AND — No student is ever turned away if a family cannot afford the full price.
Some parents seem to think that once their children receive 1st Communion, that it’s ok to take several years off until it’s time to prepare for Confirmation in High School. Sadly, this is how we end up with children growing up without really knowing our Catholic Faith. Our Faith is much deeper and richer than the bare minimum one must learn before receiving the sacraments. Please see Michael Lee this week, and register your children for this year’s program.
Peace & Good to You & Your Families!
