MuMu organic is an Ethical label from Greece, producing high quality women's clothes.

Founded in the beautiful Cyclades islands in 2009 by designer Athena Bentila and artist Roland Wakker, MuMu organic is creating stylish and timeless handmade womenswear, produced locally in Greece.

MuMu organic mainly uses certified organic cotton and other sustainable fabrics and through responsible sourcing supports Fair Trade producers in developing countries, as well as providing local employment in Greece.

MuMu organic’s beautiful designs are inspired by the breathtaking and versatile natural environment in the Greek islands. The collections feature simple and flattering, fitted dresses, skirts, tops, pants and blazers in bright and intense colours.

MuMu organic’s designer Athena Bentila says, “Our aim is to provide high fashion from sustainable materials and to educate consumers about the benefits of organic cotton. By supporting Fair Trade producers and organic farmers, we are helping make the fashion industry more sustainable, moving from throwaway fashions to beautiful, timeless and long-lasting pieces. We also support Fair Trade producers to ensure a safe, healthy, non-abusive, non-discriminatory environment with living wages for textile workers”.

Spring Summer 2015 collection

Our Spring Summer 2015 collection has been inspired and named after the Cyclades islands. The most famous island group in the Aegean Sea comprises some of the most beautiful islands in the world! Gorgeous sandy beaches with crystal blue waters, architecture in white and blue, traditional lifestyle, folk music, warm, hospitable people and barren landscapes with isolated chapels turn a trip to the Cyclades into a lifetime experience.

The name “Cyclades” refers to the islands forming a circle (the name in English means: “circular islands”) around the sacred island of Delos. According to the Greek mythology, Poseidon, God of the sea, furious at the Cyclades nymphs turned them into islands.

The fabrics we used for this collection are 100% organic cotton, fair trade and certified with GOTS, both white and printed, a lovely organic cotton and bamboo blend with an African print in two lovely colours and a 100% natural linen jersey fabric in three solid colours : white, taupe and navy.

The designs include lovely and light elegant dresses, pants and shorts, tops and blazers as well as skirts.
