FEBRUARY VIRTUE: LOVE “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does

not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-

seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record

of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices

with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always

hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails ...”

SAINT VALENTINE’S DAY Valentine's Day, also called Saint Valentine's Day

or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated

annually on February 14th. Originating as a Western

Christian feast day to honour an early saint named

Valentinus. Valentine's Day is recognized as a

significant cultural, religious, and commercial

celebration of romance and romantic love in many

regions around the world, although it is not a public

holiday in any country.

“ME TO WE” COMMITTEE In Kenya, "rafiki" means friend. Here at St. Ambrose,

the WE Team is hoping to spread love and friendship by

hosting a Rafiki bracelet sale for Valentine's Day. Each

bracelet is handmade by women in Kenya, and the

proceeds of every bracelet sold will go towards our

school's WE Pillar of Education. Order forms will be

printed and sent home with students beginning February

1st, 2019 and must be returned no later than February

14th, 2019.

In addition to the Rafiki sale, our WE Team will also

host a Valentine's Day Dance on Thursday February

14th during school hours. We ask that students please

bring in a $2 donation for the dance (similar to civvies

day) and are invited to dress in red, pink, or purple attire.

If families have purchased Rafiki bracelets, we will

gladly consider them as your donation to our WE Team's

cause.

Thank you,

Mr. Roque WE Team Coach
