St. Ann Parish Mission Statement We are called by a loving God

to make St. Ann of Lansing a Catholic community of faith. We are a family of diverse people with various ministries: healing the body and spirit, teaching of God and His love,

united in sacraments and prayer, reaching out to the extended community. With God’s revelation of Himself in Scripture as our guide,

we strive to grow in His Spirit and to fulfill the promise of Christ’s Kingdom.

Today is the Third Sunday of Advent. The readings this week reflect a lot of rejoicing in the Lord.

A friend sent me this cute e-mail (author unknown) Choose… To live by choice, not by chance; To make changes, not excuses, To be motivated, not manipulated, To be useful, not used, To excel, not compete, I choose self-esteem, not self-pity. I choose to listen to my inner voice, Not the random opinion of others. Have a great third week of Advent

Wisdom Benediction

Let the mind of Christ be with you, Let His words be on your lips,

Let the love of God guard you and guide you, Let his love be in your heart.

Open your eyes that you might see, Open your ears to hear.

Open your lips to speak His word, Open your hearts to all.

Help us, O Lord, to do your will, Give us the mind of Christ.

Grant that we always seek you, Lord, May we be one with you, now and forever.

Tomorrow is the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Our Lady of Guadalupe…pray for us. Serving Him Together, Barb A. P.S. Thanks to all who bought gifts for the Giving Tree and for all the helpers (elves) who helped sort and get them ready for us to distribute. A special thanks to Darlene, who helped get all the tags ready and kept me on track. We are truly blessed.

Together Let Us Cause God Joy

Our November 27 winning number was 2101. 2101 would have won $2630.50!

DON’T MISS OUT ON YOUR CHANCE TO WIN OUR NEXT BIG POT!

Many people have been asking how our weekly win-ning number is chosen. Here’s how it works: Every current parish number (which appears on your en-velopes) has been printed on a key tag, one of which is drawn at random every week. If the number the key tag bears belongs to a parishioner who sub-mitted both a weekly contribution AND a 50-50 en-velope, that person (or family) is our lucky winner! If, however, the parishioner did not put in both enve-lopes that week, the winnings carry over to the fol-lowing week, and the jackpot continues to grow.

To be eligible, both your 50-50 ($5.00) and weekly collection envelopes (no limit, but at least $5) with separate payments must be in the parish office by 9:00 a.m. Monday. If you donate by check, you need to write two separate checks. We will draw the weekly winner by Wednesday.

Look for the winners in each bulletin, on our facebook page, or on the parish website:

December 10-11, 2011

Dear Friends,

I pray your ADVENT is peaceful and prayerful as you await Christmas. The children pray for you every day, and we are all grateful for your continued support of your Parish School. Wonderful things happen eve-ry day at St. Ann School!

We recently received a check in the amount of $165 for our recycled paper, so keep saving the junk mail! Popolano's pre-sented us with $463 as a result of the Supper Club night in November. We appreciate their help and hope to have them sponsor another evening in the near future. This month's sup-per club is "Beggars Pizza" on Monday, December 19, 2011.

CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Bonnie Hall, who won a grant for $5,111.00 for our Technology Program. The grant will enable us to purchase ELMOS (not the little red furry kind), which are projectors that will enhance instruction. Way to go, Mrs. Hall! Speaking of Mrs. Hall, continue to pray for her husband, Eric, and all of our military. We will be mailing care packages to several soldiers, thanks to the generosity of our students and families. God, please bring PEACE to our world!

Tomorrow is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Mrs. Sypole and several of our students will lead our students in a special dramatization of the appearances. We will gather in the hall at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Our Junior High Band members will perform with the Memo-rial Junior High Band on Tuesday, December 13, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Plan to attend if you would like a little "Christmas Cheer."

St. Ann School will present the musical version of "Once Up-on a Mattress" on March 30, 31, and April 1, 2012. Auditions will be held on December 7 and 14, 2011. We thank Mrs. Pamedis for sharing her talents with us once again!

Our St. Ann Students in Preschool through Grade 5 will pre-sent their Christmas Program in Church on Friday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. Don't miss our little angels as they sing and spread Christmas Joy. We thank all of the teachers, especially Mrs. Mary Oosterbaan, for preparing this program for our enjoyment and inspiration.

As I write this letter, our annual Science Fair is recent history. Next week, we will publish the names of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place winners and the names of those who achieved OUT-STANDING status. Several will go on to the local fairs and, hopefully, we will be sending some students to the state level. Mrs. Pamedis chairs and coordinates our Science Fair. The judges commented about our students' polite behavior and knowledge of their material. We expect nothing less here at St. Ann!

God bless you all,

Donna Lamoureux

Tomorrow, December 12 will be our final TRIP date for December! Don’t forget to stock up on fun and inexpen-sive gifts for teachers and other special people, as well as for stocking stuffers. Also, make sure you have enough gas & grocery cards to get you through the holidays. You can even order Beggars Pizza TRIP to use at our Decem-ber Supper Club night! FMI, please contact Judy Rogala at 708-895-3852 or Denise Johnson at 708-474-8626.
