Dear Sisters and Brothers, Once more: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL !!! The time goes so fast that it doesn’t seem enough time to process all that is happening, I mean all feasts, seasons, years, birthdays, anniversaries, events, parties, gatherings, fundraisers, getting together, retreat, all amid good weather, bad weather, storms, sunshine, snow or rain. How many variations of feasts and conditions could we invent ??? Family, friends, parish community, strangers, poor, rich, coworkers, employees, companions, neighbors. Wow !!! No wonder we may feel like the time is flying, all these options keep changing everyday, than comes food: good, great, the best, so so, than : Chinese, American, Latino, Italian, home made, take out, meat, fish, seafood, vegetarian, vegan, diet, fat, and than the drinks. Wow !!! If our life has so many details about it so it is much more so about the aspects of our faith life. When we consider God’s world, spiritual world, Christian world. When we contemplate the Holy Family and their impact on our lives, when we consider Christ’s impact on our personal and family lives. No wander there are so many variations of feasts and mysteries of faith that we celebrate. If our material world is so complex, how much more the spiritual one. If the material world has so much beauty in it, how much more the spiritual one??? This Sunday we consider the mystery of Epiphany of Christ to the world. Epiphany means revelation, manifesta-tion, illuminating discovery, realization or disclosure, moment of sudden insight or understanding, becoming conscious of. This is some of the definitions of Epiphany, but we celebrate the feast so that you and I can make our own Epiphany - experience - manifestation of who Christ is for me, for us. Do I see the star ???, do I see its light ???, do I follow it ??? Do I put my mind to grasp and understand it ??? In birth Christ did manifest himself to Mary and Joseph, in shepherds. He manifested himself to the people of Israel, in Wiseman. He manifested himself to the world. Even vigilant strangers recognized his birth, his light, his star. They were wise and vigilant to recognize him and to make Christ part of their lives. They navigated through a dangerous world to be able to find and honor Christ: God and King, Prophet and Priest, bringing him appropriate gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. What is your gift for Christ this Christmas ??? How do you want to honor Christ in your life ??? Are you search-ing for deeper understanding of his light ??? Are you enjoying meeting Jesus and than glorifying him in your life ??? Let us keep finding for ourselves the meaning and impact of Christ on our lives, and let us keep sharing that experience with others. Let Christ’s star, the Star of Bethlehem keep guiding our lives, let it brighten our path of life in this often dangerous world physically and spiritually. Come Lord Jesus !!! May Christ find a place in all of our hearts and our homes, now and always. Once more I want to thank all of you for all your kindness and generosity to our parish and to us priests. I thank you all for all the help with preparations in all different ways for Christmas and all season. I thank you for participating in the celebrations and making it all beautiful experience of Christ being born amongst us. Let’s honor Him with our lives. This Sunday at 2:30 p.m. we are invited to sing some Christmas carols and songs in the church followed by a reception in the lower church offered by our Haitian Community. I promise to sing some polish Christmas carols. You may sing some that you know from your culture and tradition. Let’s have some fun !!! God bless everyone !!! HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! Fr. Stan
