From the Pastor- Fr. Stan May 14,2017
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Happy Mothers Day to all our Mothers and to all Mothers
around the world !!!
God bless Everyone of You for your gift of life and of love, that you gave to us, to your children. God bless you for all
sacrifices, that you are making for your children. Thank You for your selfless love and dedication. Thank You for your
unconditional love.
To be a Mother, it is the biggest thing that one can be - the Life-giver - it is the biggest job that one can do. There is no
greater gift that a human can give, as you give by giving life. All other gifts come after that first and biggest gift from a Mother.
Than, it is only the beginning of what a Mother gives to her child. She continues to serve the child until it becomes independent,
and even than, she never quits carrying her child with her in her heart. WOW - who tells all this Mothers to do that ??? Who pays
them for all that work ??? What motivates them ???
THANK YOU TO ALL MOTHERS FOR TAKING THE RISK AND PERSEVERING,
FOR NOT QUITTING, FOR LOVING !!!!
As St. John says: there is no greater love, than when one gives his life for his friends. In today's Gospel, Jesus makes it
clear to us, that the trust that we have in our Mother, we can totally place in God himself. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You
have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places". To get there is simple: Jesus says
"I am the way and the truth and the life". That love, that God the Father has, it is this same love that Jesus has, it is this same love
that a Mother has. It's infinite love. That love knows no limits. Thank You Lord !!! You couldn't make it clearer than that. Help us
to correspond to that unselfish love, help us to appreciate it in You, help us to appreciate it in every Mother.
Following the Gospel of today, we could say after Jesus that : whoever sees the love of a Mother, sees the love of God the
Father, and of his Son-Christ himself. If we don't see that love, because we don't see and recognize the human love of our mother.
We may be to self absorbed, to recognize the greatness of the love of our Mother, how than could we see the love of invisible
God ??? Please God, bless every Mother with the children, that recognize and appreciate the love they receive.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO THE BLESSED MOTHER !!!!
Hope we don't make Her despair. Let's read the Bishop's letter on the 100th anniversary of the apparitions in Fatima, to
recognize and to appreciate the effort of the Blessed Mother to continually care for the Church and for all humanity, for all her
children.
Thank You Lord that you have made it so beautiful, that we come to life in such a beautiful way, out of love, not as some
say we came as a fruit of evolution from monkeys; although some of those people who think that way, probably try to be monkeys
again by proving the limits of their evolution be equal to the maximum intelligence of a monkey, that would never think that way.
O Lord, how great is your Name above all the earth ??? Your praise is on the lips of children and infants...............
as psalmist says.
God bless everyone !!!!
Have a great weekend !!!! Don't forget it is a feast for your Mother !!!! or your wife - the Mother of your children !!!!
Make sure you make her happy !!!!
Always !!!!!
Blessings !!!!
Fr. Stan

If you or you know a neighbor who is struggling with
something and not sure where to turn, come to
St. Anne’s we are here to help you by providing
confidential support and a compassionate presence.

and to know they are not alone when facing serious
illness, mental health concerns or caring for those who
are ill or elderly.
Please don’t hesitate to call our Parish Outreach
Ministry office at 631-273-8113 ext. 229
Thank you to all who generously donate to our food pantry. During April 2017, we were happy to assist 127 families, 28 seniors,
178 adults and 151 children. We also helped 7 new families. The generosity of the parishioners of St. Anne Parish allows us to
reach out to people in our Brentwood/Bay Shore neighborhood who struggle each day to make ends meet.
Teenagers from St. John the Baptist DHS assisted in making 50 Easter Baskets for the children of our pantry clients. There is
also a wonderful group of retirees from Islip who donate to our pantry each month. This group also donated more than 50 Easter
Baskets. All the baskets were given out before Easter and I know the children were delighted to receive them. Thank you to all!
When items are available at our outreach, we give our clients gently used clothing, towels and bedding. Any donated clothing or
bedding should be washed or dry cleaned for sanitary reasons. Our clients are very grateful for these extra items. All donations
are truly appreciated by those who cannot afford to purchase them on their own.
Here are some items we need this month: soup, rice, beans, cereal, jelly (small jars), juices, toilet paper,
tissues, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, shaving cream,
disposable razors, diapers (size 4 & 5), baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, pet food and laundry
detergent. If you have any questions, please call me
631-273-8113 ext. 229.
Thank you for caring for the poor in our parish community. Janet Lambert, Outreach Coordinator

HOW DO WE BEGIN TO ACCESS
OUR INNER ROOM? Matt. 6:6 “…whenever you pray, go into your room
and shut the door…”
We will focus on Fr. Thomas Keating’s two
questions, the one above, and “What begins to
happen in the inner room”? This will provide a bit of
a review for advanced practitioners and be helpful
for beginners. The second question allows us to
focus more on our inner experience.
