BLESSED, HEALTHY AND PROSPER
NEW YEAR!
We are getting to the end of the year, and 2015 was a very special year for all of us. We have celebrated a 100th anniversary of St. Anthony’s. As we celebrate, we also recalled our history, the beginning of the church, we remembered our ancestors, who built it, and today, we are St Anthony Church. Our pictures are in the centennial directory of the parish; Cardinal Sèan O’Malley came to celebrate with us. Many former parishioners were present. We were all delighted. St. Anthony feast was also a special occasion for being together both Americans and Brazilians alike. Coincidence, or not the Brazilian Community also celebrated 25th anniversary of its presence in the church. St. Anthony was one of the first parishes to welcome the Brazilian Immigrants. Therefore, we are grateful for that. Moreover, the church has been remolded, and the cafeteria and school hall renewed. It was really a year of blessings. The Community continues strong and vibrant. The New Year is around the corner. We welcome it with gratitude and joy. I would also like to thank you for your support and your generosity. You were always good to me, many thanks also to all the bingo Volunteers. They have done a great job throughout
the whole year. To both of you I would like to wish a very healthy, prosper and blessed New Year! God bless you! Fr. Ademir
HOLY FAMILY FEAST
Luke gives us a glimpse of the tension in Jesus, being the son of Mary and Joseph, and at the same time recognizing he was God’s Son and therefore had to be about his Father’s business. The fact that there was a tension in Jesus’ family makes it clear that the Holy Family was real because our families experience tension too. Though the life of any family includes challenges and stress, the life of the Holy Family encourages us to invest ourselves in the relationships that makes up family life. And each member of the Holy Family provides a model of certain values and virtues we can strive to imitate. Joseph, a man of few words but bold action, exemplifies the virtue of fidelity, which is so critical for family life. Mary, a woman who pondered all things in her heart, displays the faith and trust that are essential ingredients of authentic family relationships. Jesus, who strove always to do God’s will, even when it caused tension with his mother, exhibits the obedience to which all of us are called not only to God, but to our parents and siblings as we work to build our lives together. Like Jesus, each of us comes into the world as part of a family. And just as Jesus’ life with Joseph and Mary helped shape the man he grew into, our family forms us. The ups and downs of family life give us opportunities to offer love and forgiveness to others. Family life is most often and most profoundly deepened around the table where meals are shared. May our sharing of the Eucharistic meal nourish and deepen within each of us the desire to build good, loving families here on earth and live in perfect love and communion with God and the rest of the angels and saints in heaven.

MISSA do PRIMEIRO ANO 1 de Janeiro: 12:00 p.m.
FELIZ ANO NOVO!
Pe. Ademir
Maria guardava tudo no coração.
Hoje vamos agradecer a Deus pelas nossas famílias, nossos pais, irmãos e irmãs, nossos filhos e filhas, netos... Todos eles são uma bênção de Deus. Por isso rezemos:
