Dear Lord, Please bring them

all home safely. Let us remember and pray for those who are always in our hearts. If you have loved ones who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, please call the rectory at 847-437-6208 and we will add their names to our bulletin list. When your loved one has returned home, please let us know so we can remove their name from the list. Thank you.

In the Gospel today, we find that Jesus would rise very early before dawn and go to a deserted place to pray and then he went out to preach and to heal. Please pray for the poor and suffering, knowing that you are bringing the love and peace of Jesus to those who live in fear and doubt, loneliness and dread. St Vincent de Paul is an emergency source for food and short-term financial help for parishioners and those living within the parish boundaries. Please call 847-437-6208. Requests will be handled with care and confidentiality.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE 2015 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL

“ENTRUSTED WITH RESPONSIBILITY” Please spend some time this week reflecting on the Annual Catholic Appeal brochure that you received at mass. Please remember that the Annual Catholic Appeal is much different than a one-time special col-lection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift payable in installments. As you review the work enabled by your contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal, please reflect on God’s gifts to you. He has given you all that you have. With these gifts, you are entrusted with re-sponsibility. Your gifts to our parish, to the Archdio-cese and to the work of the Church throughout the world are given in gratitude for the continuing gifts that God gives you. Each pledge makes a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many en-able our Archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services. Our combined gifts not only signify our gratitude to God, they fund a significant portion of the work of our Archdiocese. After our parish goal is reached, 100% of any addi-tional funds will come back to our parish to help fund our needs. Thank you for your support and generos-ity.

Training Dates and Times: Altar Servers: 4 PM on Feb.9th. Come to the Parish Offices to meet and then we will go over to Church as a group. Lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucha-rist Trainings (Both at same site): ♦ 8:30 am on February 21 at Our Lady of the Way-

side ♦ 8:30 am on March 7 at St. Thomas Becket ♦ 8:30 am on April 18 at Church of the Holy Spirit Please call me and let me know of your interest and I will register you. We need you! You may choose your Mass time at which to serve and we do our best to accommodate the dates you are available. Thank you! Mary Catherine

Dear Parishioners from Father Mike, Over the past few years I have tried to provide you the oppor-tunity to see, experience and visit some of the many signifi-cant religious and historical destinations throughout the world. We have taken two Pilgrimages to Italy visiting all the major cities including Rome, Florence, Venice and many more. We also visited Ireland experiencing this very Catholic country even having Mass at the Lady of Knock Shrine and the Galway Cathedral. Traveling with a group from our parish and with family mem-bers and friends enables individuals to go places they would never experience on their own. The more reason I enjoy their Pilgrimages so much is because we get to enjoy each other’s company in a more relaxed and casual environment. Through these Pilgrimages many friendships have been formed with people who never knew each other before. Watching this happen brings me great joy. We have designed a very unique Pilgrimage this year. It is a Pilgrimage to the California Missions. We will depart Chi-cago on Tuesday, May 12th to San Diego and return on May 20th from San Jose. While there are twenty one Spanish Mis-sions, we will be visiting only eight of them including the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala, San Juan Capistrano, and the Santa Barbara Mission, plus five more. Time will be spent learning the history and hearing interesting facts on the uniqueness of each mission and I will say Mass in two of them. Besides the Missions, we will have two nights in Disneyland, visit two famous California wineries and tour the Hearst Cas-tle. An informational meeting will be held in the Bernardin Room after all the masses on February 7th & 8th. Please attend and receive a brochure explaining this Pilgrimage. Brochures are also available in the rectory. Please join us. Father Michael Olivero

Thank you!

Help us to support the Church’s Initiative on marriage! Lutheran Church of the Cross Rev. Tim Seitz, Pastor January 29, 2015 To the Congregation of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Thank you for your many years of monthly food contributions and what we received from you in 2014. You are our largest food contributor. Without a doubt! The community’s needy families are blessed to have you as a monthly contributor. Thank you….. most appreciated. Total December cash receipts were $4100 and many food con-tributions to our inventory. With the 39% family increase, we are packing the bags with items that still make the total unit count per bag, but not necessarily the same item breakdown. Example…If we are out of fruit, we’ll substitute the difference with soup or vegetables. Our bills are all paid. We have inventory. February, our checkbook is green. March…St. Patty’s Day…Color Green…We’ll PRAY for our Green Checkbook. The Greater Chicago Food Depository tells us that In Cook County, one child in six, does not know where their next meal is coming from.
