Once your child has an SGO, that SGO scholarship is like a one-time ticket that does not expire over the life of your child’s school days K-12. FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for our St. Charles Borromeo School for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by April 11th. Applicants can apply online beginning March 21, 2014, at https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3Y2X3. All applications require online payment of $30 for processing. Please note, if you have previously used FACTS Grant & Aid to apply for an SGO, or if you are using FACTS for a child at Bishop Dwenger High School, you may already have an account with FACTS established and can login with your username and password to access the application. If you have not used FACTS Grant & Aid previously, or if your username and/or password do not work, you will need to follow the links and create a new user account. Once an online application has been completed, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process: • Copies of your most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules. • Copies of your 2013 W-2 form for both you and your spouse. • Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and TANF. All supporting documentation can be uploaded in pdf format online. Documentation can also be faxed to 1-866-315-9264 or mailed to the address below. SCRIP Spring Break – We hope everyone has a safe and restful spring break. SCRIP will also be on spring break starting tomorrow. There are no SCRIP sales during the week that school is on break. Sales will resume next weekend, April 5 & 6 at the regular weekend times. School orders will be collected, filled and returned on Monday, April 7. Merchant News – Spring IS officially here as Zesto’s is open! Bandido’s is now available only in the $10 denomination. Peerless Cleaners is currently available in $5 certificates but will soon be available only in $10 certificates. Our Marriott is only available in $100 cards; however, special orders can be placed for $500 cards. We are constantly making changes to our list of merchants in an effort to serve you better. Please be sure to read the bulletin for updates as well as to pick up new order forms from time to time to stay up-to-date with these changes. Spring Sacraments – Many of you will be celebrating as members of your family are welcomed into the church at Easter, are confirmed or receive the Eucharist for the first time. If you are looking for something special to remember the occasion, we have gift certificates to most of the local religious goods stores. Be sure to purchase scrip before you make your purchases so you can earn SCRIP credit with your purchase. Schedule Notes – Our schedule will be different again the week before Easter. Sales will take place on Holy Thursday from 8-9am in the Hession Center; then there will be no more sales that week until school orders are collected on Monday, April 21. You can place an order Easter weekend by placing your completed order form and payment in an envelope clearly marked “SCRIP” and dropping it in the collection basket. We will receive the order on Monday, April 21; it will be filled and ready for pick-up at the Parish Office anytime after 2pm that day. REGIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINNERING FAIR On Saturday, March 22, the 59th Northeastern Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair was held at IPFW. The winners came from local competitions held throughout an eight county region – 275 exhibitors from kindergarten through high school. The following St. Charles students were awarded for their efforts: Cassandra Smith, “Why do we wear seatbelts?”, achieved First Place in the grade 3 division. She also received the Friedel Director Award of $100.00. Zach Schubert, “How do good and bad carbs affect blood sugar?” came in fourth place in the grade 4 division. Leah Zimmerman, grade 4, received $100.00 from the Northeastern Indiana Veterinary Medical Association for her project, “Is a dog’s mouth cleaner than a human’s mouth?” Congratulations scientists for representing St. Charles well! Last Friday, many of our students brought home to you a STUDENT ORDER FORM for a FREE TinCaps baseball ticket to attend a baseball game at Parkview Field! The official date for our students to attend the game is Monday, June 2nd, at 7:05 pm. If a student cannot go to that game, the ticket form may be used for another game of your choice. Family members may attend the same game at a discounted rate. Parents will be responsible for their own children to and from the ballpark and during the game. This is not a school field trip! Each student, grades k-8, who fulfilled his/her reading goal for the third quarter received this baseball game ticket form. PARENTS MUST SEND IN THE ORDER FORM BY THE DATE STATED ON THE ORDER FORM, April 21st, 2014, in order to be seated with the rest of the St. Charles students and staff. On the game date the students will receive a free hot dog and soft drink. It will be lots of fun for all! Currently we have over 270 students registered for the Class of 2018! It has been great meeting with all of you over the past few weeks during registration and we look forward to seeing you again when you take your placement exam. All registered students have signed up to take a placement exam on Saturday, April 12 or April 26. The Math exam starts at 8:30am and the English exam will start at 9:30am. Lunch Payment Form Parents can put money into the student's account through your MealpayPlus online account at www.mealpayplus.com or by calling 866-662-3382 for a small fee. Or, you may send a check with the Lunch Accounting Form below to the school cafeteria. For example, if you have 3 children, send a check for $90 payable to St. Charles Cafeteria and designate $30 to each child's account. Each child who will eat hot lunch needs to have money in their meal account. It is recommended to have a minimum of $10.00 in this account which will pay for five meals. If the student may want additional portions of the main entree, then it is recommended to have a minimum of $6.25 in the general account as well. if you have questions regarding this, you may call the school cafeteria at 969-4028 on school days 8:00-12:30 or the school office at 484-3392.
