Year 1 have been reminding themselves that being unique and simply themselves is a great way to stay happy! We have been making Marvellous Memedals identifying 5 things that are marvellous about ourselves. Eid-ul-Fitr At the beginning of half-term, Sunday 24 May 2020, Muslims around the UK celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, a festival which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. Some of our children also celebrated Eid, although it was very different this year because of lockdown. Traditionally this is a time of visiting family and friends as well as dining and enjoying time together, to mark the end of a very special holy month. Delicious food is prepared, traditional desserts are made and cash gifts called Eidiare exchanged and especially given to children, as well as other presents. People greet each other with an Eid Mubarak!”. However this year, this boys family could not have all of those festivities as home alone, but they still made it special. They adapted by making home-made bunting as decoration and an Eid Cake. Lots of presents were received in the post as well as some from home ; and they spent the day connecting and speaking with family from around the UK, playing games and of course eating!

Head’s Corner

Thank you to all the parents who have congratulated us on our return to school this week. It was a massive job in preparing for the much desired return of our children but so worthwhile when we saw so many happy faces. Now we’re looking forward to phase two and the return of the rest of the purple and gold army!

Bunnies update

The rabbits Raffi and Lily are having an extended holiday with the Amos family. They are both doing very well and keeping the children Benji and Matilda very busy. Raffi and Lily look like they are having a whale of a time and eating everything in sight!

We would like to thank the Amos family for taking good care of Raffi and Lily whilst the school is only partially open and send Raffi and Lily all your love !

Marvellous Me!

Year 1 have been reminding themselves that being unique and simply themselves is a great way to stay happy! We have been making ‘Marvellous Me’ medals identifying 5 things that are marvellous about ourselves. These range from being a caring friend, speaking more than one language, having golden hair to looking after my animals. Do you know anyone that could do with a ‘Marvellous Me’ medal? Remember we can help others keep happy by reminding them what is marvellous about them too!

Delicious food is prepared, traditional desserts are made and cash gifts called ‘Eidi’ are exchanged and especially given to children, as well as other presents. People greet each other with an “Eid Mubarak!”.

However this year, this boy’s family could not have all of those festivities as home alone, but they still made it special. They adapted by making home-made bunting as decoration and an Eid Cake. Lots of presents were received in the post as well as some from home ; and they spent the day connecting and speaking with family from around the UK, playing games and of course eating!
