2nd Sunday of Advent– Segundo Domingo de Adviento

Words from our Pastor Unas palabras de nuestro Pastor
December 6, 2020
II Sunday of Advent
Dear brothers in Christ Jesus our Hope:
We have entered the New Year, a liturgical year in
which we hope to live a new and different life in the
name of Jesus. The Advent that we began last
week is a time of preparation for the feast of re-
membrance of our salvation in which God has had
mercy on humanity by sending his Son to us in the
reality of mortal flesh. Advent is a time of prepara-
tion that we remember year after year this manifes-
tation on the feast of Christmas that is why on Ad-
vent Sundays it is a constant invitation to the peo-
ple of change of life. To remove the bad things that
we can have to receive Jesus in a clean and hum-
bled heart, where that child who reflects God's ten-
derness finds a place to be born and transform the
lives of those who accept him.
The Prophet Isaiah on this Sunday, raises his voice
and invites us to raise our voices, to shout the good
news "God comes with his power, He will feed the
flock and take the lambs in his arms." In a time like
the one we are living in, we need to shout to the
world, let us trust God and prepare ourselves spirit-
ually. Saint Paul reminds us that we must live our
faith trusting in God and in this way we will obtain
the peace of God, a peace that God expects of us
not as a selfish peace, but a peace lived for the
common good. We need prophets who invite us to
prepare the way of the Lord, men and women like
Saint John the Baptist who shout, "Prepare the way
of the Lord." New things are coming in life and we
need to be prepared, let us not let time pass and
we cannot enjoy the blessing of God, God who will
be with us, Emmanuel.
I invite you brothers as we prepare for Christmas that we try to approach confession and cleanse our lives of sin to enjoy a Christmas full of Peace and Love with our loved ones.
