June 7, 2015 Corpus Christi ProcessionCorpus Christi ProcessionCorpus Christi ProcessionCorpus Christi Procession

Often we feel pressured to keep our faith “ a private matter”. Yet Jesus calls us to publicly show our faith and be the light of the world. So, like the apostles at the first Pentecost, together let us stand tall and show our faith on the feast of Corpus Christi. Please plan to join the 0.8 mile street procession with the Blessed Sacrament, immedi-ately after the noon Mass. We will stop for adoration at the home of two parishioners, one on Cedar Ave. and one on W. Areba Ave., before ending at the grotto with solemn benediction. Everyone is invited to participate. If you cannot make the walk, you may wait for us at one of the two stations for adoration or at the grotto for benediction.

“Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before my Father in Heaven”

Mt:10,32

We are extending a special invitation to all children who received the Most Precious Body of Christ for the first time on May 2nd. This is an excellent occasion for them to recall this great mystery of faith. They will walk immediately before the Blessed Sacrament since a special function is reserved for them during the procession. For more details on the role of the first communicants, please call Connie Egan at 533-8578. Attention all Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - As we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, we have a special prayer of blessing for all of you at the noon Mass on that day. We strongly encourage all of you to make every effort to attend and to vest at that Mass. Pews will be reserved for you on the Blessed Mother side of the church.

Assisted Suicide Doctor-prescribed suicide is a growing threat in PA & dozens of other states. A type of euthanasia, doctor-prescribed suicide involves a physician prescribing a lethal dose of drugs for a patient with the knowledge the patient intends to use the drugs to commit suicide. Human beings, including those with life-threatening illnesses & disabilities, have dignity & need our compassion. Assisted suicide is neither dignified or compassionate. House Bill 943 & Senate Bill 549 have been introduced in the PA Legislature & referred to Judiciary Committee. Please call your State Representative & Senator & urge them to say "No" to these two bills. For further info go to NoAssistedSuicidePA.org.
