On Saturday 23rd September 2017 St Johns Chapel Auction Mart held their Annual Prize Show and

Sale of Swaledale Ewes, Gimmer shearlings and Gimmer Lambs. The sale was sponsored by George F

White, Jardine Motors, JD Featherstone Haulage and Reeth Garage.

The Judges were John Dobson, Frosterley and John Tully, Eggleston.

The following awards were given

Ewes:

1st I Collinson, Billingshield which sold for £170 to W&C Iceton & Son, Baldersdale

2nd I Collinson, Billingshield which sold for £150 to DG Birkett & Son, Baldersdale

3rd WR Walton & Son, Black Cleugh which sold for £135 to M&B Coulthard, Westgate

Ist prize Swaledale ewes from I Collinson, Billingshield with judges John Tully and John Dobson

Shearlings:

1st WR Walton & Son, Black Cleugh which sold for £145 to DG Birkett, Baldersdale

2nd Messr Pattinson, Pinfold which sold for £102 to GS & SE Wilson, Barnard Castle

3rd JR Dalton, Wellhope which sold for £120 to Toddholes Partnership, Otterburn

1st prize Swaledale Shearlings from WR Walton & Son, Black Cleugh

Gimmer Lambs:

1st JL Archer, Whitehill which sold for £75 TA Walton, Crook

2nd JL Archer, whitehill which sold for £70 to K Smith & Sons, Hexham

3rd S&K Emmott, Whitelees which sold for £75 to K Smith & Sons, Hexham
