The Epiphany of the Lord Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that 2021 is a much better year for all of us. This Sunday we celebrate a sign of God’s love for all people. Each perhaps pointing to His Kingship, His Divinity, and the Passion and Death He would undergo. The three Magi, these wise men, come from the East and represent all nations. Not just the Jewish people, not just the Catholic or Chris-tian people, but all people. Jesus is Messiah, Savior, and Lord of all of us. This is good for us to remember, not just during the Christmas season, or on the Epiphany – but all year round. Every human being was made in the Image and Likeness of God. We read in Sacred Scripture that “God formed our inmost be-ing and He knit each of us in our mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13). He created us in His love and holds us and sustains us in our existence. STEWARDSHIP IN ACTION

Dec. 27, 2020 & January 3 Collections will be posted In the January 10, 2021 bulletin

The three wise men who came from the East to pay homage to the infant Jesus brought Him rich gifts of gold, frankin-cense, and myrrh as part of their worship. What gifts have I brought to this celebration to offer to the newborn Savior?

Sunday 5:30 pm Mass

The Sunday 5:30 pm Mass will resume on Sunday, January 10, 2021. This is a week later than originally planned due to the later start date for MSU classes.

RCIA RCIA will resume meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in person in the Parish Hall and by Zoom; details will be available on the RCIA Starkville Facebook page and by Flocknotes.

The Epiphany of the Lord Come, let us adore Him

O Holy Magi, you were living in continual expectation of the rising of the Star of Jacob, which would an-nounce the birth of the true Son of justice; obtain for me an increase of faith and charity, and the grace to live in continual hope of beholding, one day, the light of heavenly glory and eternal joy. Infant Jesus, meek and mild, look on me a little child. Pity mine and pity me, suffer me to come to Thee. Heart of Jesus, I adore Thee. Heart of Mary, I implore Thee. Heart of Joseph, pure and just. In these three hearts, I put my trust and I ask O, Holy Magi, Pray for Us.

Amen

A Prayer for the New Year

Remember us, O God; from age to age be our comforter.

You have given us the wonder of time, blessings in days and nights,

seasons and years. Bless your children at the turning of the year

and fill the months ahead with the bright hope that is ours in the coming of Christ. You are our God, living and reigning, forever and ever.

Amen.
