“The Lord bless you and keep you! The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!

The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace! Num. 6: 24 - 26

Dear Brothers and sisters:

On these days in which we remember the birth of our Savior, with gratitude I send my best wishes hoping that our gra-cious God blesses you and your family. In these 8 years I have shared with you the mystery of our faith; I want to thank you with all my heart, for all your great effort and dedication with your valuable participation in all of our activities. I have no doubt that our Parish Com-munity, year after year is enriched by the gifts each one of you contributes to the service of our God. Through this actions we enrich our faith daily. As St. Paul says “And this is my prayer: that your love may increase ever more and more in knowledge and every kind of perception” (Phil 1:9) I would also like to take this valuable opportunity to encourage the community to live generously, so as to follow the example of the scriptures in the Gospel of St. Luke we find a valuable testimony of the woman who shared everything she had with the Church “When he looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole liveli-hood.” (Cfr. Lk. 21:1-4) “In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness. ”(Gal. 5:22) It has been a part of our Church since ancient times, it is because of them that I ask you one more time to be aware before our God, of the financial needs of our community of the Church of St. Joseph. It would be a good gesture of Christian Commitment and an even greater sacrifice in our generosity, remembering that God multiplies what you give with joy by a hundred.

Please do not forget that the Holy Father has called us to live fully this Merciful Year of Jubilee. For this reason I ask you all to live a closer life to the love of God. Keeping you all in my prayers, I conclude by wishing you all a happy 2016.

With fraternal love,

Rev. Luis Gutierrez

»“El Señor te bendiga y te guarde; el Señor te mire con agrado y te extienda su amor;

Rev. Luis Gutiérrez

Jubilee Year of Mercy December 27, 2015 Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Imagine: three New Year’s cel-ebrations in little over a month! In late November, Advent began the new litur-gical year; December 8, the Jubilee Year of Mercy; this coming Friday, the New Year 2016. In today’s Gospel, after three days of anguish, Mary tells Jesus how desperately she and Joseph have been searching for him. Mary could be speaking for the whole human race. With religious persecutions raging, international and domestic conflicts seething, our family and friends suffering various difficul-ties, not to mention our own personal problems, how much our world needs Jesus as another New Year veiled in mys-tery begins! As we pray for God’s mercy to enfold our world and embrace each of us in 2016, let our New Year’s resolution be to live the Jubilee Year of Mercy by being for others, as Mary was, a channel of God’s mercy and an in-strument of Christ’s peace. —Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

—Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J.
