We will be celebrating Divine Mercy Toay, Sunday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm....this year Pope Francis has made it a year of Mercy..so, what better way to come and take advantage of Our Lord's mer-cy..however, due to the shortage of priests, it is suggested that you go to confession 8 days, before this event or 8 days after..this will still give you the indulgence for this day. also, Mass will not be cele-brated at this event..please go to Mass before coming. The Divine Mercy novena starts on Good Friday, please pick up a copy in the back of the church.

Please invite all your friends and family.. All are welcome and we hope to see you all there.

From the Faith Formation Office… Classes resume this week on Wednesday and Saturday. We have three sessions left for each day before our classes are completed for the year. We resume regular office hours this week as well. I have been talking about our need to form a youth ministry and one way to begin is for the students in Confirmation preparation to meet at a separate time from the students in elementary grades. We are currently looking at students in grades 1-5 meeting in an early session and the confirma-tion and youth meet later on Wednesday. The other option is for grades 1-5 to meet on Wednesday and confirmation and youth to meet on Thursday. If you have any thoughts on this please email them to: faithformation@stjosephaddison.org.

Marriage Enrichment Ministry

“MEM” We are excited to announce the existence of a Marriage Enrichment Ministry for our Eastern DuPage Deanery. The mission of this new ministry is to support and encourage all married couples to celebrate and strengthen their relationships. Our goal is to pro-vide events, programs and opportunities for couples to experience practical ways to deepen their marriage emotionally and spiritually.

To quote Pope Francis “True joy… does not come from material objects…True joy comes from a profound harmony be-tween persons …which makes us experience the beauty of togetherness, of mutual support along life’s journey.”

This ministry is not intended to replicate “Pre-Cana” classes or to replace Marriage Encounter Weekends. It is intended for couples in our neighboring Deanery Parishes to provide local, on-going opportunities to strengthen and grow in their union and celebrate the joy of their married life together.

Because healthy marriages and families are the cornerstone of society and our faith communities, we believe our parish-es’ married couples need to support each other with programs that are inspirational, practical, and celebratory.

Therefore, we are inviting all couples to an informal Gathering celebrating the “Joy of Marriage” on Friday, April 8th at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish, 330 E. Fullerton Avenue, Addison, IL 60181. Come and join us and other couples for fun and information about the Marriage Enrichment Ministry. Watch your bulletin for more details in the coming weeks. The purpose of the forum is to educate ourselves on the very real issues that our undocumented brothers and sisters in Christ face every single day as they step out to go to work or spend time with their families. In addition, we will learn what resources are available to help us serve our fellow parishioners and neigh-bors who are confronted with immigration issues. Deacon Lupe Villarreal from the Diocese of Joliet has put together a panel composed of speakers that are well educated on this issue, as well as a witness who will relate her story.

Jubilee Year of Mercy April 3, 2016 Second Sunday of Easter or Sunday of Divine Mercy Last year on this Sunday, Pope Francis declared this year a Jubilee Year of Mercy. Saint John Paul II named the Second Sunday of Easter “Sunday of Divine Mercy” in response to Saint Faustina Kowalska’s Divine Mercy devotion, which of-fered spiritual comfort to hearts worldwide. But Francis chal-lenges us to make that comfort we receive a gift we gladly share: “We are called to show mercy because mercy has first been shown to us.” The clearest expression of merciful love, says Francis, is pardoning others. “At times how hard it seems to forgive!” he acknowledges. “And yet pardon is the instrument placed into our fragile hands to attain serenity of heart” (Misericordiae Vultus, 9). The necessary condition for living joyfully? “To let go of anger, wrath, violence, and re-venge.” May Divine Mercy Sunday in this Jubilee Year of Mercy remind us that Jesus made mercy our life’s ideal and a criterion for our faith’s credibility: “Blessed are the merci-ful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7). —Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J. San Juan Pablo II nombró al Segundo Domingo de Pascua “Domingo de la Divina Misericordia” en respuesta a la de-voción de la Divina Misericordia de santa Faustina Kowalska que ofrece consuelo espiritual a los corazones en todo el mundo. Pero el Papa Francisco nos desafía a hacer que el consuelo que recibimos como don lo compartamos con ale-gría “se nos llama a mostrar misericordia porque la miseri-cordia primero se nos mostró a nosotros”.
