There was a

TV commercial where

you see a young man

who feels compassion

for another man

dressed as Santa

Claus enduring the

cold while asking

donations for the

Salvation Army. The young man brings him a hot cup

of coffee and accompanies him to his home and carries

his bag. Once at home the young man sews the man’s

hat. At the end, we see the young man coming out of

his own house carrying a key with a ribbon to find out

that Santa Claus left him a luxury car as a present.

The final judgment will be like that. God will

not give us a luxury car, but he will reward us for

loving him in our neighbors even though we did not

recognize him. In the contrary, we will be denied to

enjoy his glory if we did not treat him with love in the

others, even if we never imagine that it could be him.

Unfortunately, we have been taught to only

act if we will receive something in exchange. We apply

ourselves in our studies to obtain the best grades. We

force ourselves in sports to win a championship, we

invest love to obtain love in return. We also learn not

to take care of business that would not guarantee a

benefit.

Even the Apostles, hoped to obtain earthly

benefit from Jesus. Even the mother of James and

John requested her sons to be seated on each side of

Jesus in his throne. Finally, the ones that were at his

sides were Dimas and Jestas.

How difficult it is to recognize the King of the

Universe in the throne of the cross, with the crown not

made of gold and precious stones, but with thorns and

blood! Jestas like so many, was not able to recognize

him. However, Dimas was able to steal heaven at the

last minute when he recognized Jesus as his real King

and Savior. And asks for his grace to be remembered

when he enters into his Kingdom. At this, Jesus

assures him that he will be with him in paradise that

same day.

The way to salvation is to love him in our

neighbors even though if he is unrecognizable as He

was in the cross with his deformed and bleeding face.

Even if his face is so deformed in our neighbors face

due to the blows of life, despite its vices, bad temper,

poverty, shame, indignity, or sin; to love them even if

they are sinners because he gave his life for us even if

we are sinners.

en el que se ve a un joven

que siente compasión por

Santa Claus aguantando

el frío mientras pide

donaciones para Ejército

de Salvación. El joven le

ofrece un café caliente y

le acompaña hasta su casa llevándole su costal y le

remienda su gorro roto. Al final, el joven sale en pijama

de su propia casa con una llave con un moño de regalo

para encontrarse que Santa Claus le regaló un Infiniti

último modelo.

El Juicio Final será parecido a eso. Dios no nos

va a regalar un carro de lujo, sino que nos premiará por

haberlo amado en el prójimo, aunque no lo hayamos

reconocido o, por el contrario, seremos negados de gozar

de su Gloria si es que no lo tratamos con amor en los

demás, aunque no imagináramos siquiera que se pudiera

tratar de El.

Desgraciadamente se nos ha enseñado a actuar

por el interés de recibir algo a cambio. Nos esforzamos en

el estudio para obtener las mejores calificaciones. Nos

esforzamos en el deporte para ganar un campeonato,

invertimos amor, para obtener amor. También se nos ha

enseñado a no ocuparnos de lo que no nos reditúe un

beneficio. Los Apóstoles mismos, tenían puesta las

esperanzas de obtener un beneficio de Jesús aquí en la

Tierra. Incluso la Mamá de Santiago y Juan quiere que

cuando Jesús esté en su trono, sus hijos estén a su lado

derecho e izquierdo y, quienes estuvieron a sus lados

finalmente, fueron Dimas y Gestas.

¡Que difícil es reconocer al Rey del Universo en el

trono de la cruz, con una corona, no de oro y piedras

preciosas, sino de espinas y sangre! Gestas, al igual que

muchos, no pudieron reconocerlo, sin embargo, Dimas,

supo robarse el Cielo en el último momento al reconocerlo

como su verdadero Rey y Salvador y le pide la gracia de

que se acuerde de él cuando esté en su Reino. Ante esto,

Jesús le garantiza que estará con El en el Paraíso esa

misma tarde.

El camino para la salvación es el amor a El en el

prójimo, aunque esté tan irreconocible como lo estuvo

con el rostro deformado y sangrante en la cruz, aunque

esté tan deformado en nuestro prójimo a causa de los

golpes que la vida les ha dado, a pesar de sus vicios, mal

carácter, desconfianza, pobreza, vergüenza, indignidad o

pecado. Amarles aunque sean pecadores, pues El dio su

vida para salvarnos aunque somos pecadores.

PRESENTACION DE NIÑOS.- El Lunes 21 de Noviembre, La Iglesia recuerda que la Virgen María fue presentada al Templo para ser consagrada a Dios. On Monday, November 21, the Church commemorates the Presentation of the Virgin Mary into the Temple to be consecrated to God. Following the tradition, on that same day we will have a Mass at 7 p.m. At Saint Joseph´s Church to consecrate your children to God.

CONCERT Saturday, December 3 At 7:30 p.m. in Saint Joseph Church. Come and enjoy this great gift of excellent music. This is a beautiful opportunity to enter into the Spirit of Advent as a preparation for Christmas.

MINI ADVENT RETREAT AND PENANCE SERVICE.- On Friday, November 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. We will have a lecture to prepare ourselves to live plenty this time of Advent and we will continue with a penance Service. This is the best way to prepare a heart clean and warm where Baby Jesus may be born on it.
