Great Music!.” HEALING NIGHT AUGUST 15 The St. Lucas healing team will be in the sanctuary on the third Tuesday as usual to offer healing prayer from 6-7pm. St Lucas Garden News Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home; all is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin. God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied; come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home. The garden is growing like crazy! All 24 beds are burgeoning with goodness! Folks are eating cucumbers, summer squashes, peppers, okra, dill, and basil are feeding Cindy’s Corner guests and other neighbors. Our tomatoes are threaten- ing to take over the world and a few have rip- ened and been eaten. Peas and beans are climbing their supports; carrots and beets are developing nicely. The cabbages are looking tastier every day – one has already gone home with a neighbor. Thoughts as Fall peers around the far corner: Randy Hyter mulched the first two beds nearest to the park- ing lot with leaves last fall and we haven’t had any weeds show their faces there. And check out what that mulch has done for the tomato plants in those beds – they’re taller than your gardeners! Sooo, please keep the St Lucas Garden in mind when your lawns start filling up with autumn’s offerings – when you bag your leaves, bring them to church with you and leave them by the parking lot. When we put the garden to bed, we’ll give it a nice cozy blanket that will have it ready for next spring’s plantings. Tuesday and Thursday will be the Gardening Days this week. Toledo Grows finally got their mulch delivery, so we’ll be picking up a load and top dressing our beds, training beans and peas up their supports, some planting bed weed- ing and maintenance, and suchlike tasks . I’m not sure ex- actly when the mulch will arrive, so if you’d like to help dis- tribute it, please send your phone number or email address to me - 419-244-2243 or [email protected] and I’ll let you know when it will arrive. Join us in the garden! Cultilivatingly Yours, Mike Biscay
