ALL SOUL’S DAY MASS

All Soul’s Day is Friday, Nov. 2. You and your family are invited to attend a Mass at 7 p.m. The parish will have a vigil candle lit in honor of each person buried out of this parish between October

28, 2011--November 1, 2012. The vigil candle will be placed on the altar steps. You are invited to take the candle home after the Mass.

As in previous years, we invite you to bring a picture of your loved one(s). The picture(s) will be displayed on a table in the church in the old overflow section (the area just below the stained glass window). We ask that the picture(s) be on a standing frame and no larger than 5 x 7. Please make sure your name/phone number is on the back of the picture. You may drop them off Friday, October 26 in the Parish Office from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or you may bring the picture(s) to any weekend Mass, October 27/28. The picture(s) must be picked up after the 7 p.m. All Soul’s Day Mass. We will not be responsible for any pictures left behind.

A Novena of Masses will be offered from November 2 to November 10, 2012 for the deceased. A special “All Soul’s Day” envelope was included in your monthly contribution envelopes. These envelopes, which include the names of the deceased, will be placed on the altar. If you need a special envelope, please stop by the Parish Office.

LIFE NIGHT PARENTAL NOTICE

Parents, below is a list of topics that your youth will be discussing over the following Sundays. We ask that you discuss these topics with your teens. Questions? Contact Liz Ortiz at 433-2777 ext. 119 or attend any of the Life Nights. Parents are always welcome.

Oct. 21 Topic: Pray the Vote

The goal for this night is to inform teens of the need for involvement in public life. This night will give teens practical ways to integrate their faith into public life and make decisions on important issues. In a document called Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have called all the faithful to participation in public life. The bishops have also created a useful website to help in planning and teaching this specific issue — www.faithfulcitizenship.org. Be sure to utilize these two great tools when planning for this night. A copy of the bishop’s document can be downloaded from www.usccb.org.

Oct. 28 Dia de Los Muertos & XLT 2:30-7 p.m. All Life Teen members are to bring a photo and participate in the setting up for Dia de los Muertos, celebrating the lives of those

who have passed on. Followed by Mass and XLT.
