A heartfelt "Thank You” goes out
to those that participated in
the House of Hope's Walk for
Life earlier this weekend. Our
Faith’s message of Pro-Life has to
be a solid point of unity for all
Christians around the world. When thinking
about abortion and its consequences, think of
the consequences how Satan had his way with
our Lord Jesus Christ during those critical mo-
ments that the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and
Mary’s family discovered that she was with
child. What would our fate be today? This week
St. Matthew reminds us that our fear causes us
to lose faith. Do not be afraid to speak out about
abortion and its wicked consequences. Be nice,
but stand your ground!
May God continue to Bless You
and your Families!

Iglesia San Lucas. Para mas informes: 915-422-0970 ,

The world today suffers from aggressions that harm
the character of people and as a consequence it be-
comes difficult to have a sound relationship with their
family, spouse and co-workers. People who learn to
forgive in spite of their circumstances develop them-
selves better. The ESPERE group is offering a work-
shop of forgiveness and reconciliation to all who wish
to learn how to free themselves from depression, bit-
terness an disillusion to improve their inter-personal
relationships. The workshop will be held in English at
St Luke Catholic church’s reconciliation room as of
Thursday September 4th from 6pm to 9pm. For more

How can I repay the Lord for all the great good
done for me? Psalm 116:12
Today we wish to recognize those who not only sup-
port our parish, but also have made a gift or pledge
to the 2014 Bishop’s Annual Progress Appeal for
the Diocese of El Paso. On behalf of those who will
be served by your contributions, thank you to all
who have already completed their pledge payments,
as well as those who are still making payments. For
those of you who have not had an opportunity to
make a pledge or a gift this year, but still desire to
be a part of the 2014 campaign, Please complete a
pledge envelope located in the lobby. You may also
call in your gift to the Foundation office at
872-8412 or make gifts online at
www.elpasodiocesefoundation.org.
When each of our individual gifts are com-
bined with the gifts of other parishioners
throughout the diocese, each contributor makes a
very real difference in the ability of the Diocese of
El Paso to provide ministries and services. Thank
you again for your support.
Life Teen would like to extend
our heartfelt thanks and appreci-
ation to the following for their do-
nations of talent, time and money
to make the Retreat we had last
weekend a reality, and a huge success: Burger
King at Yarbrough, the Viescas Family, Marissa
Gerardo, Deacon John and Carol Farley and our
volunteers in the kitchen and our Adoration
Chapel. We believe your prayers and the prayers
of our parishioners kept the presence of the Holy
Spirit with us throughout the weekend. Most es-
pecially we would like to extend a very BIG
thanks to Our Knights of Columbus who donated
much of the food and their time to make our
event an experience our teens will long remem-
ber! Lastly, we extend a warm thank you and our
love to Fr. Beto who tirelessly helped us with
EVERYTHING as well as providing the Spir-
itual Direction. God Bless You All! God Bless Our
Teens!

Salmo116:12
porcionar ministerios y servicios. Gracias de nueva
cuenta por su apoyo.
PRESENCE It is difficult to be truly present to another. We
speak of putting in an appearance or showing up.
Even when we arrive, we are often distracted. We
think ahead, or we review an unsettled past. None-
theless, we are at our best when we truly show up.
We are most fully ourselves when we are absorbed
in something worthy of us: creative work, good con-
versation, prayer. In these instances we are wholly
ourselves and wholly outside ourselves. Elijah knew
this kind of engagement. He was one of God’s
great prophets. In today’s first reading,
he follows God’s command to journey
to that most holy place, Mount Horeb.
And there in great silence, Elijah en-
counters God. As for Peter and the
apostles, they discover the presence of
God after the storm at sea. They and
the sea and the winds are stunned into
silent reverence.

a Dios.
