End of second quarter and last school day before Christmas – Friday, December 20 th Classes resume - January 6 th One of my favorite things about St. Margarets School is the student Mass on Wednesdays. Our students proclaim the readings and a class member from each class gives prayer intentions for the week. For these kids to get up in front of a group and speak and read is a remarkable feat, but each week they perform admirably. In the last few weeks we have had security cameras installed in our school. We now have excellent visibility all around the out- side of the building and pretty good visibility inside. We are trying to add a few more cameras inside and some more recording memory. Right now, we can record about a weeks worth of video from the cameras we have and wed like to increase that to about thirty days. This past Tuesday, Erika Yarber and her family, working for the PTO group, sponsored our annual fall Family Fun Night”. They provided us with a taco barfor our meal and it was very delicious. We began the evening with teachers and students demonstrating our new reading instruction techniques and assessment system. After the demonstrations, the PTO had orga- nized games such as a pie-eating contest; a cake walk, and cookie decorating. The evening went very well and I think everyone had a great time. I greatly appreciate the PTO and the other volunteers who made, not only the Family Fun Night successful, but who also work so hard, all year long, to make our school successful. It is with a heavy heart that the Diocese of Cheyenne informs you of a credible accusation regarding Rev. Donn Shelly, a priest of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, Irish Province. Father Shelly (deceased) served from 1969 to 1970 at Our Lady of Fatima, Casper, and

later that year at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Cheyenne, for a short time. As-sistance has been offered to the victim. As a diocese, we reaffirm our commitment to the safety of all God’s children. Together let us be vigi-lant in providing a safe environment and praying for all victims/survivors of clergy sexual abuse. If you suspect abuse of a minor, call your local law enforcement agency or the Department of Family Ser-vices. Upon notification of authorities or if you have questions, please call Chancellor Jean Chrostoski at 307-638-1530, ext. 105, or send email to ([email protected]) or make contact with the Diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator Mary Adams at 307-220-0485 ([email protected]).

Fr. Louie’s Corner

Thursday December 12, 2019

The celebration for The Feast Day of

Our Lady of Guadalupe will begin

with Mañanitas at 6:15 a.m. with a gather-

ing in the church for a traditional serenade to

Our Blessed Mother. Later, at 6:30p.m., Mass

will be celebrated by Fr. Louie followed by dinner in the

gym. All are warmly welcome to join us for any of the festiv-

ities! There will be several pots of delicious pozole available

for dinner. If you would like to contribute to the menu in any

way , please bring whatever you wish to share. This year’s

celebration will feature real life Mariachis !!!!!

Wow, it’s amazing how hardened the hearts of these leaders are. They live in denial of what is good. They have convinced themselves that they know God’s will so they do not want Jesus’ forgiveness. They want him to beg them for forgiveness! The criminal on Jesus’ right has been moved by Jesus. He realizes that however much he and the other criminal deserve their fate, Jesus most as-suredly does not. He is know in our Tradition as St. Dis-mas and is the only person from the New Testament that we know from the text is in heaven. He has lived a dismal life, but he repents. The other thief joins with the Jewish leaders and mocks Jesus asking why he cannot save him-self. This is the ultimate irony: Jesus is the only person in history that did not need to be saved by God’s grace. Even our immaculate ever Virgin Mary depended on the Grace of God. St Dismas realized that and asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his Kingdom. By doing that he finally helped build the kingdom on earth. People present were inspired by his confession and profession of faith and today we should be inspired by him to help to build the kingdom of heaven right here on earth.

The School Mass is being moved from Wednesday

Thanksgiving Mass Schedule

Nov. 28 - 9:00 a.m. 7:00 a.m. Mass is cancelled

----------------------------------------

The Parish Office will be closed Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.

Key Club and the students at RHS have asked St. Margaret’s to help make stuffing for their annual community Thanksgiving Meal delivery. We will need to prepare 120 boxes of Stove Top stuffing. If you would

like to help, donations can be dropped off at the church office until Tuesday, November 26th. We will be prepar-ing the stuffing on Wednesday the 27th at 1:30 pm in the school kitchen. Thanks for your help and generosity. Contact Karla at 851-4218 with any questions.

Attention Early Bulletin Deadline

Please have all bulletin information to me by noon

on Tuesday November 26. Thanks! Sheri.

There will be no Religious Education classes this week, Happy Thanksgiving! An attitude of gratitude for our blessings in-stead of complaining about what we don't have makes us hap-pier, better friends, and better disciples!

Reminder: There will be a meeting for First Communicants and their parents on Wednesday, December 4, at 5:15 in the school library. This is a mandatory meeting to discuss the ex-pectations for those preparing to receive First Communion and First Reconciliation. If you are unable to make it, please contact Bryan or Karla for information on a makeup session. Thanks!
