Faith Formation News
As we prepare for Easter during this season of Lent, please keep in your prayers the can-didates and catechumens who are preparing to receive the Sacraments at Easter Vigil. During the Lenten season there will be smaller penitential rites, called Scrutinizes, during the weekend Masses to refine their intentions and further prepare them for the Easter Vigil celebration. As a community, we support them by prayer and example. Take some time this Lenten season to re-member them and welcome them whole-heartedly into our Parish Family.
The RCIA class will be discussing the Sacra-ment of Matrimony in class this week. This is the oldest Sacrament, instituted in the Garden of Eden, and reaffirmed in its pur-pose by Jesus. Everyone is always wel-come to this adult Faith Formation class.
Lent has begun in earnest at St. Margaret’s School. One of the activities we will be participating in this Lenten season is The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2019 – 2020 “Pennies for Patients” program. The students and staff will be collecting change
to donate to the program and to help stricken children in Wyoming. More information will be coming as the time draws nearer.
We have a “Giving Page” at the following website address: https://events.lls.org/pages/rm/St-Margaret-S-School-2020. Please
visit our page and help our squad raise funds for a very worthy cause. Activities like this will help our students learn about
helping others. The little things we do each day, to help someone or something, are one of the many ways we can praise God
every day.
A prayer; Lord, I offer You my day. I offer You all that I do and all that I am. I especially offer You the small
things I do every day. May each action become a gift to You, offering You honor and glory throughout my
day. Jesus, I trust in You. A couple of reminders: The third quarter ends March 6th. The annual Dinner Dance is March 14th. The volunteer sign-up sheet for the Dinner/Dance is located at https://www.volunteersignup.org/F7XW9. Get your tickets and raffle tickets at the school. March 30 – April 3 is Spring Break. Our last day of school this year is Thursday, May 21st. That day we will travel to the Jaycee Park, across from Riverton Middle
School, for a school playday and picnic. We invite all of you to come and spend the morning with us. Bring some games and
some picnic food. We will head to the park at 9:00 AM and our students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM. All pre-school students
and graduated 5th graders are welcome to join us for the activities and the picnic.
A few weeks ago, several of us from the school and the School Commission, attended a meeting in Casper with folks from the
other five Catholic schools in Wyoming and Bishop Steven and members of the Diocese administration. Together we met with a
group from Minnesota called Partner’s Edge, which is a school consulting firm that was hired by the Diocese. Each school
group was tasked with coming up with a 90-day plan for improvement. Our improvement plans are to revolve around Bishop
Steven’s key goals. They are: Increased vibrancy, effectiveness, growth, and sustainability. Increased self-determination and
accountability of Catholic Schools by local lay leadership. Decreased management responsibilities by Pastors for school.
Increased faith development and sacramental responsibilities of Pastors in schools.
As we go forward, we will be presenting our plans to everyone involved. We will let everyone know when the presentations will
take place. Walk in the Light of the Lord,
Nick Schafer .

As we celebrate the second Sunday of Lent, we hear in our Gospel reading of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Jesus takes Peter, James and John to the high mountain top and he is transfigured, his face and clothes become dazzling white, and then Moses and Elijah appear with him. Peter wants to jump into action and build the three of them tents, but the bright shining cloud of the Father’s presence appears and announces the Jesus is his Son and that we should listen to him, and by listen He means obey. As they go back down the mountain Jesus instructs them to tell no one until he is risen from the dead. He has given them, and us, the great gift of the knowledge of the resurrection. We need that gift because life can seem so hard for us. Indeed, without the knowledge of the resurrection no one could have the courage to be His disciples. With knowledge of the resurrection we can allow God’s grace to work in us and be truly good disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Attention!!! As we learn more about the nature of the recently discov-ered Coronavirus (Covid-19), the Diocese of Cheyenne and your parish of St. Margaret’s are implementing pre-cautions to help protect our community. We realize that the chance of infection for most of us is far greater out-side of our hour together on Sunday/Saturday. Because the Coronavirus spreads in a manner like Influenza, the very best precaution is for you to stay home if you feel ill in any way…especially if you have a fever or are cough-ing or sneezing. Contact with respiratory droplets from someone who coughs or sneezes is the number one way for transmission to happen The Diocese will be monitor-ing the spread of the Coronavirus and advising further precautions if necessary.

Soup Suppers/Fish Fry & Stations of the Cross
There will be soup suppers at 6:00 p.m. every Friday during Lent starting February 28 until Good Friday, April 10, with 2 exceptions. The soup supper on Friday, March 20, is changed/moved to a carry-in dinner on Saturday,
March 21, at 6:30 p.m. (right after mass), and RCCW will be providing the main dish (fried chicken) while everyone else is encouraged to bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share. Also, there will be a fish fry instead of a soup supper on Friday, March 27. The fish fry supper, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12 and includes a drink, fish, coleslaw, potato wedges, and a roll. All 7 of the Lenten suppers will be in the gym except for the supper on March 13 - which will be in Pate Hall. If you would like to host one of the soup suppers, bring food, or help in any other way, please contact Francesca at 856-6986. Each Friday during Lent there will also be Stations of the Cross in the church at 7:00 p.m.
