We are One Family of Faith in Jesus Christ. We are the merged faith community of St. Martin

of Tours, founded in 1906, and Our Lady of Lourdes, found in 1872, both located in

Bushwick, Brooklyn.

We are rooted in God’s word and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church; we value and

celebrate our diversity, faith, hope and love in the Lord Jesus. It is our belief that the Holy

Spirit guides us through the different moments of our parish life, and that the Blessed Mother

of God assists us in this journey of faith. We are committed to help each other strengthen our

faith, communion and participation through God’s Word, Holy Eucharist and Evangelization.

In this way we answer the call to discipleship in our parish life. We seek to become more

inclusive and vibrant. We want to keep organizing ourselves in a way that all people feel

welcomed, accepted and encouraged to share their gifts and talents.

21st Sunday In Ordinary Time “Lord, increase our faith “ In today’s Gospel, Jesus urges us to remain faithful to Him and to live

in the “spirit that

gives life.” Our

Savior came to

recreate humanity.

When we live in the

Spirit of Jesus, we

transcend our ordi-

nary life in order to

live a loftier life. We

are so filled with

divine love that we

are like the stars whose light is totally absorbed in the sunlight. God

lives in us, and our only desire is to unite our will to God’s Will.

To progress in living in the Spirit of Jesus, we must first of all accept

ourselves as being less than perfect. Don’t lose heart, be patient, wait

while joyously carrying out your daily activities. Do everything you

are taught in a spirit of gentleness and fidelity. Develop a spirit of

compassion. After we have planted and watered, we must realize that

it is for God to give the increase to the trees that are our good inclina-

tions and habits. For this reason we must wait to obtain the fruits of

our desires and labors from divine Providence.

Parish Registration Why You Need To Register?

To all of our parishioners who are still not registered, we respectfully ask that you take just a minute to

register now. Also, to those parishioners who, for whatever reason, cannot attend mass with us every week, we also ask

that you please register with us. You are still part of our parish family and we welcome you.

Also, if you are not registered and you are not using your weekly envelopes, we cannot issue any letters in connection

with sponsorship for the Sacraments, we cannot give recommendations for work positions etc. and we also cannot

provide letters or documentation confirming your Charitable weekly donations in the prior tax years.

It is extremely important that you register with our church. It is as simple, just give us a call or stop by the rectory office

at your earliest convenience.

Registration and Re-Registration for Faith Formation At St Martin of Tours 2015-2016

CHILDREN - YOUNG ADULTS - RICA Every Sunday: After 9:00am and10:30am mass

in the church basement. During weekdays registrations will be held at the Rectory

Office: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday From: 10:00am to 12:00 and 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

First time registration, you must bring a copy of your child’s birth and baptism Certificate and for the Adults as well.

Registration for the second time, if you did not submit the documents last year, you must do it now, Your child cannot

receive the Sacrament of First Communion or Confirmation without those documents.

XXI Domingo Del Tiempo Ordinario “Señor, Incrementa nuestra fe” En el Evangelio de hoy Jesús nos urge a que sigamos siendo fieles a Él, y

a que continuemos

viviendo en el

“espíritu que nos da la

vida”. Nuestro

Salvador vino al

mundo para recrear a

la humanidad. Cuando

vivimos en el Espíritu

de Jesús trascendemos

de nuestra vida común

y corriente para

empezar a vivir una

vida más excelsa. El amor divino nos colma de tal manera, que somos

como estrellas cuyo brillo ha sido eclipsado completamente por la luz del

sol. Dios vive en nosotros, y nuestro único deseo es unir nuestra voluntad a

Su Voluntad. Para seguir progresando en nuestra vida en el Espíritu de

Jesús, antes que nada debemos aceptarnos a nosotros mismos con todo y

nuestras imperfecciones. No se den por vencidos, sean pacientes. Esperen

y prosigan en el cumplimiento de sus actividades diarias llenos júbilo.

Hagan todo lo que se les ha enseñado con un espíritu de gentileza y fideli-

dad. Desarrollen un espíritu de compasión. Una vez hayamos sembrado y

regado debemos comprender que el desarrollo de esos árboles, que repre-

sentan nuestras buenas inclinaciones y hábitos, queda en manos de Dios.

Es por esta razón que debemos esperar para poder obtener los frutos de

nuestros deseos, y de nuestra labor, de manos de la Divina Providencia.

mes empezando con el Rosario a las 5pm y Misa a las 7pm.

Para todos nuestros feligreses que aún no están registrados, les pedimos

siendo parte de nuestra familia parroquial y le damos la bienvenida. Si

podremos emitir ninguna carta en relación con patrocinio para los

sacramentos, cartas de recomendaciones para las posiciones de trabajo etc.,

no podremos proporcionar cartas o documentos que confirman su benéfica

donación semanal en los años fiscales. Es extremadamente importante que

A Godparent must be a practicing Catholic, at least eighteen years old, and

must have received the sacrament of Confirmation. If married, must be

married in the Catholic Church. If you are living in common-law with your

partner you cannot be godfather or Godmother.
